If you want a secluded quiet get away with everything the family needs this is the place. A small glitch with the WiFi (not of the hosts doing) was dealt with quickly and courteously by John the host. All in all the perfect break.

Perfect peace.

Beautiful location. Accommodation was ideal for our group of friends. Everything needed was provided. Would definitely stay there again in the future.

Lovely unusual woodland property

We had a lovely stay at Spey Lodge. We were two families who love to cook and the kitchen was a joy - to cook in - well equipped and spacious. The house was comfortably furnished and always warm. The forest location was so peaceful with interesting walks direct from the house. The bedrooms may not be en suite but that was never a problem for our group of 10 adults as there were two excellent showers available and a constant supply of hot water.

Spey lodge is in a beautiful location and is central to all amenities.It is very easy to miss the turn off so might have to double back to find it. Please ensure that if anyone has any difficulties in walking they will find this lodge difficult to access as it has stairs going up and it doesn't have a handrail . The only reason I gave 4 stars is that it definately needs better sofa /chairs as you would struggle if all the rooms were occupied to all sit round and watch the tv together and the ones that were there were uncomfortable.Also there are 4 remote controls for tv so very confusing just as well my daughter was there to work it out. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would definitely book again.

Short holiday

Excellent location, forest walks just outside, dogs loved it! 5 minutes from Aviemore by car so although quiet area facilities within easy reach. Sitting outside in the sunshine and not bothered by midges. Would recommend the property.

Woodland oasis

As regular visitors to Aviemore area the house was a fantastic and private base, and despite no fences great for the dogs. Loved the living area and particularly the terrace. Beds comfortable and great walks from the house to the loch. Overall a great find, thanks!

Fabulous house for a family holiday

Spey Lodge is a great house for a family holiday. We loved the big room with projector TV (that was bright enough to work in the daytime) and space to play inside. Lovely kitchen and fire. The updated bathrooms are great. We really enjoyed the walks into the forest from the house and the proximity to Rothiemurchus activities.

Groot huis midden in mooie natuur.

Mooi, groot huis. Keuken en badkamers ( wc’ s spoelen echter slecht door. ) goed uitgerust. We hebben prettig verblijf gehad en veel buiten kunnen zitten. Dan valt op dat er buiten rondom veel achterstallig onderhoud is. Desondanks hebben wij er een heel prettig weekend gehad.

Excellent location beautiful home.

An ideal spot for peace and quiet close to many activities in the local area. Very comfortable beds and an excellent appointed kitchen for preparing and enjoying meals. We hope to return again in the future.
