This was my first and last stay at a Motel 6.
I do want to give credit to the gentleman working the night shift. He was kind, helpful during check-in, and provided extra towels when I asked.
The room itself was a whole different experience. There was white dog hair everywhere, dog feces behind the door, and what appeared to be feces wiped on the bathroom door. The cigarette smell was so strong it soaked into my clothes just from being in the room.
There were no cups, ice bucket, tissues, or working smoke detectors that we could see. The AC worked great, but the unit was dusty, damaged, and partially open.
I slept fully dressed, on top of the blankets, with my own pillowcase and even put my shirt over the pillow because I was that uncomfortable.
I understand this is a budget motel. I wasn’t expecting luxury. I was expecting basic cleanliness and safety.
Dog hair? Gross.
Cigarette smell? Awful.
Dog poop behind the door and on the bathroom door? That turned the stay into a survival challenge.
The night employee gets 5 stars. The room absolutely does not
