“Super quiet location, rooms were beautifully done and recently refurbished. Very much liked the underfloor heating in the bathroom and super comfy bed. The communal area and restaurant were closed when we visited but there is a fab deli, 2 mins up road and linked to wider Castle Ashby estate. Overall a gem of a hotel and ideal for quiet break to relax and refresh. ”

“Arrived at 2 pm, front desk asked us to come back at 3, eventually checked-in at 3 ish, front desk informed that the Spa closes at 4:30. Rushed to the Spa straight after check-in, and the woman at Spa told us the Spa closes at 3:45 instead because they need time to "clean-up". So we ended up spending 15 mins at the Spa.. Went to the Spa next morning, only to find out the Spa was closed the whole day due to "maintenance"! Complained to the front desk when checked-out, and the lady said "well,……

“After a bit of a dodgy start with booking a river view room and getting a room with windows in the roof area that you couldn’t see out of, unless you were six foot tall! Also the blinds were screwed down so no natural light at all. Went back to reception and complained. Quickly sorted out and given the room we booked. Room very clean and spacious ”
