"This is a renewed historic hotel located near the Chama train ride. The effort put into renovation is very evident. It has an authentic old west charm without being too rustic. The room we had was nice and clean with modern amenities for the most part. There was no AC but at that altitude we were comfortable with the window open. A word of warning, Go for the larger rooms. We booked late because we had not planned to spend an extra night in Chama but the train ride is a day long adventure. As a result we took the available room #206. It is very small to the poin of being cramped. Overall though I would be happy to stay there again, jut not in #206."

"This is our 3rd stay at “The Getaway.”It’s a wonderful place for all ages. If you need a break and place to reset from the daily grind this is the sanctuary to do so. We enjoy the quiet to read and reconnect with family on the porch over a cup of coffee or a meal at the table. Our family enjoys playing card or board games or walks down to the river.
