Overall, the hotel was below standard, more like a 3-star hotel. Room was very small. Bathroom more like the size of a closet. Hot water took 10 minutes to get warm. View room with a window whose outside has not been cleaned in a few years - more like a dirty blurred view of ocean. House cleaning service timing abominable. Told to clean room every morning after 9am and be finished by noon; had to practically call them every day after returning to room around 4pm to get the room cleaned. Everyone was always very courteous and obliging, however, their follow-through was very poor.
I have to rethink my Marriott and Bonvoy usage. Corporate is quick to raise rates, but the hotelier is failing miserably to maintain, let alone improve, standards. Will probably advise associates and friends accordingly via social media.
