Property is beautiful, it has a hot jacuzzi, a regular size pool and a smaller pool for children. There is a bar next to the pool that serves simple drinks like a rum and coke. There is also a Thai restaurant that I did not have dinner in but I did see many people sit and they seemed to be enjoying the food. The lighting on the property at night is excellent and makes a person feel safe. The rooms have clean towels, toiletries, only thing I missed was a lotion as part of the toiletries. It was quiet (no people making noise) at night during the hours I slept. The staff is kind and friendly. There is a gentleman that has been working on the property with his wife and they are very accommodating. Also, Gabriela who works the reception desk and I thought naught be a manager was also very friendly and informative. My room came with a bottle of wine which she allowed me to choose from the wines she had available. The hotel is about a 8 min car ride to town where there are many restaurants, bars, a bakery, cafe, pharmacy, gas stations, and large supermarket.

The staff was AMAZING. Hector, Melony, Michael, EVERYONE was amazing. They went out of their way to make our stay exquisite and make sure we were comfortable. They even helped us find some fun restaurants and have other great advice. The rooms were also amazing, in my opinion it's the perfect room for a small family. Had a large comfortable bed and 2 pull out couches. Everything was perfect. Thank you Melony, Hector, Michael and the GM, and all others who make up Hotel Puerto Valdés. A beautiful place I'll never forget

Verified traveler

Bring your own cleaning supplies to clean your own unit. I found bugs in my fridge. Also bring aromatic candles or scent sprays, extra trash bags as well, you’ll need it and find a laundry mat because they won’t let you use the one in the unit unless you rent the place for a week or longer. If you are wanting to go to the beach go to Luquillo instead and find a hotel there. Coming here was a waste of time and money.

I believe this is part of Playa Los Machos which is where we did spend some time. And it is magnificent! no real amenities in the off season, it looks like during tourist season there will be changing rooms, restrooms, and restaurants.
