"Dario, manager was prompt & answered our questions promptly. He gave infor for a chef & wine tour. Isa,who met us at the property, gave us a Villa tour & her number to reach her. She also cooked for us 2 nights. Absolutely wonderful and a superb Chef. Sophie,her helper was a delight. They taught us some Italian!.it was too cool for the pool,but a great addition to a lovely property. We never expected the Villa to be updated (that's the ambiance of Italy) BUT we did expect that the amenities would be more comfortable. Out of the 5 bedrooms, only 3 were really for adults. So, since I was the one that booked the Villa, my husband and I took the twin room, which was not a problem at all, we retired for the evening & took the spread off of the beds & discovered that they were COTS. They were so uncomfortable we decided to try the other room with the twin beds that were clearly children beds (low to the ground and narrower) the mattress was better but once again they were made like cots & I could not move without making loud squeaky noise. We never really slept a full night. Kitchen was extremely well equipped and plenty of room at the dinning room all eight of us. The couch and chairs were beyond there years of being comfortable. We had great hot water but there were no shower curtains & since the stall was very small the floor got a lot of water.It would have been nice for VRBO to let us know that no bath soap, shampoo or TP is provided by this property. The location was awesome"

"After a precarious drive up, we were blown away by the views and pool at this property. It is breath taking. There is a wonderful restaurant just up the road and a fantastic town below. Really great place to bring groceries, sit by the pool and relax. We had a fabulous spa day in the town, also. LOVED this stay and hope we can return!"

"Paolo’s property was perfect for me and my family. It is clean, spacious and very well presented. It is a perfect location for exploring the Garfagnana region and close to plenty of local amenities. The swimming pool is beautiful and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We hope to return next summer. Grazie mille, Paolo!"

"We stayed for one week, two families meeting there from the UK and the other from Germany. We have done this a number of times over the years, in love with Tuscany, and each time we have stayed in a different property. This house is one of the best we have stayed in, it’s in a beautiful location, extraordinary views across the valley, beautiful at night actually, the pool is perfect, gorgeous gardens, many bedrooms and many bathrooms, and even two kitchens. So for the latter, the reason for this is that the house really consists of two apartments, one on one floor and the other on the floor below, but you can treat it as a normal house; in fact, the young people in our group, all the children, took the lower part of the house to themselves, and the rest of us in the top half which worked well, we always ate together in the upper part on the terrace, the beautiful terrace, compliments to the gardeners! The house is 20 minutes to Barga, 40 minutes to Lucca et cetera, I would advise not going much further at the valley in terms of distance from things, but this position is good. The villager is very pretty and very very quiet, apart from the sound of families, there is no shop I think, there did seem to be a restaurant, it’s striking how this village looks as though it’s been hewn from the mountain, somehow humans and nature in harmony, something that seems to have been temporarily lost in the modern world."

"Laura’s property is truly amazing. The pictures don’t do it justice. The views are spectacular and the pool and garden the perfect place to relax. The house was perfectly clean and has everything you need. Vitiana is a picture perfect Italian mountain village with lots of little alleys to explore. You do need to plan a little bit and buy enough food for a few days if you don’t want to drive down the mountain every day to go to the stores. But bread, meat, eggs, and cheese are available at the neighbor’s. We had a really great time and it was the perfect mix of relaxing away from it all and taking trips to sights in the area. Laura is a great host and very attentive yet discreet. Thank you very much, Laura!!"

"We stayed at this beautiful villa with our children, their spouses and our grandchildren and what a memorable holiday we had. From Le Mura, the views of small villages that lit up at night, fireflies that danced in the dark ,the sound of church bells echoing in the valley, magnificent mountains and the sunsets were more beautiful than we ever imagined. Celia and Enzo were amazing hosts, thoughtful, delightful, knowledgeable of the history of places in and around Benabbio, where to eat and buy groceries etc. We loved the villa, the pool and the hikes around the Tuscan hills. A short walk to the village provided us with an excellent restaurant and bar where we could eat in or take out food. The grocery store had most things we needed. We can't wait to go back."

"Melograno Cottage provided our family of 4 from California a private mountainside retreat for a week in late June. An efficient 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom retreat with private pool and epic views and sunsets within a 3 minute walk to an ancient hilltop village with a quality restaurant and friendly locals. We woke daily to a cacophony of bird song; walks at night provided front row seats to fireflies and small families of foxes, and days were spent in the hot Tuscan sun by the pool. An epic and memorable experience with a exceptionally responsive and friendly host. 10/10 !"
