Once you've covered all the great attractions in Sudamérica, there's more to see in the region. Grab the keys to a rental car, stow your luggage in the trunk and hit the open road. We've pulled together some drives we know you'll love:

• You'll discover Málaga Cathedral and loads of other intriguing attractions in Málaga. From Sudamérica, it's roughly 100 miles away.
• Roughly 120 miles away, Córdoba is also a favorite with travelers. Allow time to experience Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love visiting this colorful city.
• Spend time in the great outdoors and appreciate the serenity at Mirador de San Nicolas. It's 150 miles from Sudamérica.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Spain, then you may need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. Also consider that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with a rental car.
