Friendly staff. Clean. Sink is outside the bathroom which can be awkward. Breakfast was good. The lobby has dark wood which is dated but looks like a lodge. No elevator but entry to rooms as on the inside which is always safer. They allow pets for a fee which means rooms probably had pets before. But it was clean. Close to Great Sand Dunes as you can be. It’s 30 minute away but other than this town, there aren’t closer choices.

Everything is fine

Appears that this was a “grand” hotel 50-60 years ago. It was clean. Furnishings in the common areas and some in my room were that old. Furnishings weren’t worn, just dated. Room did have a few modern conveniences - new bedside lamp and fridge. Complaints: Room was stifling hot and the portable AC didn’t cool it off until morning. Room was tiny. Had a king sized bed but there was about 2 ft of space surrounding the bed. Bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. Footprint, excluding shower, was about 3x4 ft. I couldn’t use the bathroom with the door closed. The sink was tiny and positioned such that is was almost unusable.

The rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I'd give it a full 5 star rating but we had no couch which left not enough sitting space in our room and the walls were a bit thin to block out noise. We slept great though & the hot tub felt amazing! I do want to give a shout out to Dillion who was working at the front desk. There was a VERY upset guest that booked the wrong room type. It was no error from the hotel side but the guest was really getting yelled at and treated very poorly. He remained calm and very kind to the guest. Much nicer than I probably would have been after an hour of being yelled at. Kuddos to you Dillion. Comfort Inn & Suites is lucky to have you.
