Bear Den-Secluded 2 Bedroom Cabin Located in the Hiawatha National Forest.

Welcome to the middle of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Hiawatha National Forest. This newly remodeled cabin can sleep 5 comfortably with two bedrooms; one with a queen bed, the other a bunk with full and twin size beds, one full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen to start your day off with a coffee and make any meal of the day, as well as a living room complete with a working fireplace and television with dvd player. Behind the home you will find a firepit and a picnic table, roast marshmallows and enjoy the view of the lake. In front of the home there is a standing charcoal grill for guests to use. This cabin is located between Munising and Grand Marais on the scenic drive of H-58 along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as well as being located on the ATV and Snowmobile Trails so you can leave right from the cabin. There is parking in the driveway for trailers but no room to turn around so you would have to back in or out. However, we do have the bottom of the driveway plowed out as well for easier trailer parking.
Hike around and see the sites all day then come home to your own cabin in the woods where you can grill out on the deck overlooking the lake and roast marshmallows over the bonfire listening to the loons at night. Please note **This cabin is located in the Hiawatha National Forest, in the woods, where there are animals and critters. You may see a mouse or a spider in the cabin during your stay. We do everything we can to disinfect, clean and prevent any critters from accessing the cabin. However, we cannot guarantee Mickey Mouse won't peak around the corner and say hello. Also, a new water filtration system has been installed. It reprograms/flushes every 500 gallons which can be very loud and disturbing for about an hour.

***There is a doorbell camera mounted at the entryway outside.

***Door code will be released the day of check-in for security purposes.

***If you are booking through Airbnb or VRBO you will receive a separate contract from Pictured Rocks Vacation Rentals. In order to receive check-in information you will be required to sign this.

A piece of serenity

Cozy cabin tucked away in the UP on the lake and away from neighbors. A wonderful experience i will not soon forget and will visit repeatedly going foward. Cant wait to return!

Close to Pictured Rocks

This property is great if you plan on spending a lot of time at Pictured Rocks. You are close to many of the hiking trails while still having a peaceful place to stay.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin is just as described, small and upgraded in a beautiful and secluded location. It's perfectly located in the middle of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore so easily access all of the spots off H-38 but avoid all the activity of town or a campground. We really enjoyed coming back to the cabin each night after a day of hiking or lake exploration. My one recommendation would be a dehumidifier. I didn't realize in the description that there is no air conditioning, which most of the year wouldn't be an issue. But it was incredibly humid and sticky in the cabin and opening doors and windows are not an option because of the mosquitos. Otherwise this was a welcome escape and we would stay here again.

Peaceful cabin

Very lovely cabin in middle of woods. Head up that you cannot easily access the lake- marshy. We intended to fish at cabin but did not realize there was no path to the lake. Only complaint: very very bad mosquitos. Could not enjoy the outside at all due to extreme mosquitos.

The bear cabin

It was very clean and comfortable and easy access. Our timing wasn't the best, we came when the mosquitoes thought they were having a festival. So we couldn't enjoy the outdoors. Overall we really enjoyed our stay hopefully we'll be back.

The cabin was clean and had the basic needed supplies expected for cooking had extra blankets might need more big towels for a family. We were only disappointed that there wasn't a good way to get to the lake to fish from the property with what we had didn't want to risk getting muddy without an outdoor hose to clean off with. Good place for bird watching as we seen plenty of water birds and even a humming bird Definitely a good central location for explorering the Pictured Rocks area

The snowmobile trails were easy to get to. It snowed a couple times during our stay and a man came and took care of clearing the snow in the driveway each time. The street it is located on did not get plowed right away by the county, so I am glad we had a 4WD truck.

We were completely snowed in and were unable to go anywhere and still had the best time relaxing by the fire. A local man made sure we were plowed out when it was time to leave. We were happy about that. Could use a few more games (playing cards) and maybe a flashlight but other than that we were 100% satisfied.

There are lots of extra blankets, board games, videos and the kids bedroom even has a packNplay to use. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 for the condition was a couple of small things, like the shower bottom could be recaulked, the arm chairs are a little worn, the master bedroom could use another bedside table, and the stove flame is a little weak. But these little things in no way diminished our stay and we would definitely stay here again.
