"We had a wonderful week at the cottage despite the poor weather. The cottage was warm and comfortable and the beds were amazing, so comfortable. The bathroom was really nice with a wonderful rain forest shower.Gail and Richard made us very welcome and were always around if we had any problems but not intrusive.All in all it was a great stay, even my mum who is 92 loved it and we will definitely be returning next year."

"Wow, what a gem! This beautiful old hotel is filled with charm and character. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the private pool and hot tub—which you reserve all to yourself—felt incredibly luxurious. Breakfast was outstanding, with a wonderful selection of pastries and juices, along with delicious à la carte options. Our only complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer. We hope to return one day"

I had never stayed in a ground floor room previously but the room smelled of damp and this was worrying and unpleasant. "It’s a lovely hotel. A little bit dated now, in places, but overall really nice in a nice setting and location. The staff were friendly although there were a few occasions things were asked for and not delivered on. I put this down to them being young and maybe not fully engaged with their roles. Could maybe do with some senior leadership to raise standards to where they could easily be. I would recommend and I would stay again. Just manage your expectations. Don’t expect the best. But overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I paid for breakfast both mornings. The food quality was great but often things were missing and not replenished. A little disappointing at £16 pp price point."
