After the first night, I was ready to give the place a 1 star. Basically, I was jet lagged coming from Italy and just worn out. When I got in, the door to the balcony was wide open, but the worst thing was this noise like wind coming through a crack. I asked to change rooms assuming that was the problem, and there was no possibility of change. However, in the morning I discovered there was a button for ventilation and the forced air was the cause. Turning it off solved the problem. The room was fine with it off. Then the advantages set in. There's a stove and a fridge allowing me to make my own breakfast, really important when you're waking up at 4 or 5. There's basically unlimited coffee (you just need to ask) and best of all a washer and dryer in the room. They don't clean. It's like an efficiency apartment, but OK I didn't need that. The shower could have a larger barrier or a door, but it's not terrible. So it's actually, not a bad place to say two blocks from the metro and walking distance to a 24 hour bagel place for a real Montreal experience.
