I selected this room to stay within budget but didn’t realize how small and cramped we would be. My husband was very disappointed. We’re older and would rather have had a couch or recliner to relax in rather than the 2 chairs in “kitchen” or bed to watch tv. It was clean. We left a day early

This is basically a hotel room. The kitchen or extra space is small and has no sink. There is what appears to be an adjoining door which a dog was on the other side barking at every sound we made. The facility was nice and the restaurant was top notch. Very clean and updated.

Air conditioner leaked water on the bed. Called after hrs # left message. No response. Messaged host next morning. Messaged me back said it was fixed, moved the bed and put towels on the floor said a repairman would be there Monday ( the day we were leaving) It was not fixed and leaked water all over the floor the entire time we were there. Didn't even replace bedding had to go to office and request clean bedding. Review will not let me add photos.

Review

Colony suites was a nice stay however, it is not beach front like the post says. It is a very tiny room toward the street. Another issue we had was the air conditioning and ceiling fan consistently being loud which made it very difficult to sleep. Despite this, the room was very clean and the staff was wonderful.

The no kitchen

Property was advertised with kitchenette lol…..not hardly. It was the walkway to get to the bedroom from the front door.

Very nice

Very cute room. The bed is comfy, pillows are great, and everything was clean. Only issue we had was that the walls are very thin. You can hear outside and all your neighbors. Ours had dogs that would bark any time we did something.. but it was a nice place over all and we enjoyed our stay.

Colony Suites

My wife and I had not been to the beach in almost 10 years so we were looking forward to our visit. The check in process was very good and they even called us prior to our arrival. Upon check-in we realized right away that this unit is not beachside. The entire complex is beachside, but this unit is close to the street with a lovely view of the air conditioning units. The unit was not clean. There were bloody boogers on the wall, the floor was filthy and there were construction materials under the bed. There were also dead bugs on the window sill. The unit only provided two bath towels so be sure to bring towels for the beach and pool. We were also surprised that there weren't any beach chairs or umbrellas. Not necessary but would have been nice. You can rent them on the beach which was a $40 a day additional expense. The biggest thing to note is that this unit is directly attached to another unit. Depending on those renters your stay might be quiet and peaceful. Ours unfortunately was not. The renters in the adjoining unit were constantly fighting and swearing with one another which was not relaxing at all. Would we go back to Tybee? Absolutely! Would we stay at Beachside Colony? Absolutely! Would we stay in this unit again? Based on what they charged and all of the above, that would be a hard no.

Would not go back

The property itself is ok and in a great location. Right on the beach and within walking distance to shops/food. It is old/outdated though. I personally did not like the room we had. VERY small, the only window we had there was like an AC unit in front of it, so there was absolutely no view. In the “kitchen” area there is a door shared with another room, and those people were very loud and constantly trying to open the door. You also pay a cleaning fee, but prior to check out they have a list of stuff you need to do or you’ll be charged another cleaning fee. The AC unit above the bed made weird buzzing noises all night. Needless to say we left after one night and will NEVER stay at this place again. However, after speaking with the manager, they did reimburse us half of what we paid.

Perfect location!

This was a great stay for a long weekend at the coast. East access to the ocean, covered parking, pools, cute restaurant, and beautiful wide beach were the highlights! Mattress gave me a back ache from lack of support and loud buzzing thing attached to air conditioner right above the headboard kept us from sleeping for 3 nights. But if you sleep easily, than this is the perfect place to stay for a quick weekend. We would return for the great location but with earplugs next time :)

Awesome getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway. The room was as described but the floor could have been cleaner but wearing socks fixed that problem. It’s very nice. You do have to drive which therefore means pay to park when you go to the South end to eat. I’d definitely stay again.
