How this hotel has a 4* rating is a mystery! I’ve just come back from a 2 night stay and was really not impressed. On arrival it looks very grand but all that changes when you get into the tiny, dark decorated rooms. Absolutely nothing like the photos that advertise this place! A very bad smell kept wafting through the bathroom and a smell of weed in the corridor! For a supposedly 4* hotel the tea and coffee facilities in the room are underwhelming. 2 teabags and no biscuits. I’ve stayed in budget hotels that supply much more! Both mornings the food on the self serve breakfast was mainly cold and again, for so-called 4* the choice and quality was extremely poor. The signage in the hotel is terrible too, no signage for the spa area and pool. I had to ask at reception where breakfast was being served as no signage for that either! Saturday night was absolutely horrendous with a rowdy party going on in one of the function rooms. I understand the hotel cannot choose its clientele, but they should be able to control them!! A rowdy bunch of lads loitering outside the lobby, glass bottles left outside, one of which I stood on in the dark and slipped!! Then this moved to some of the rooms with people talking very loudly and messing around in the corridor on level 3. Not the behaviour you would expect to see and hear in a 4* Honestly, from my experience, this hotel must be paying someone to keep those 4* because it’s certainly doesn’t live up to one organically.

Can’t recommend, sadly. Paid 193 for a room badly in need of renovation, smelt of smoke/ damp, bathroom seals all gone, window dirty and not really openable-shame as staff were nice, and it’s a great location Contacted hotel after our stay re these issues but they didn’t reply.
