Shadowland Cabin - Remarkable Authentic Log Cabin Surrounded by Wildlife

This remarkable 1,200 sq ft authentic log cabin sits on a gated 10 acre scenic homestead with walking trails and private back deck with hot tub. This beautiful cabin makes a perfect romantic getaway for 2 or a nice retreat for small families. Enjoy an easy morning by taking your morning coffee to the relaxing rockers on the front porch.

The charming interior boasts a rustic Hill Country atmosphere with elevated ceilings, as well as modern luxuries like a 42" flat screen TV. The kitchen comes fully-equipped, featuring everything guests might need to prepare their own meals, including a dishwasher for easy cleaning up. The master bedroom has a king size bed with luxuriously comfortable mattress and linens that will guarantee a restful night’s sleep. The second bedroom is equipped with a plush queen size bed. There is also a bonus room with futon available that can serve as a third bedroom.

Wildlife of all kinds can be seen while sipping your morning coffee on either of the two porches. From the spacious back porch, you can enjoy overlooking the beauty of the adjacent sheep and cattle ranch as you kick back and soak in the hot tub. Grill dinners in the evening on the propane grill or build a campfire so the kids can roast marshmallows.

There are 3 seperate rental structures on the 10 acre homestead. This cabin, an airstream, and a larger home. Each of the structures are positioned away from one another providing their own privacy. All amenities listed for this cabin are for your private usage only (including the hot tub).

PET POLICY: One dog is allowed to join your vacation if they have been registered prior to your arrival. A maximum of 1 dog is allowed per reservation and a pet fee of $25.00 per night will be added once your pet is approved.

SELF CHECK-IN REQUIREMENTS: All reservations will be required to sign a rental agreement and provide Hills of Texas Lodging with a valid credit card to be placed on file for their stay. In lieu of charging a damage deposit or non-refundable damage waiver, a temporary hold will be placed on a credit card upon arrival for incidentals (just like they do at hotels). We are basically just verifying with your financial institution that sufficient funds are available in the event they were needed to cover property damage(s). If there are no property damages, the card will not be charged.

Easy Peasy
Easy Check in. Great directions. Nice and clean home. Hot tub was a nice break from the day going from place to place. King bed was comfortable and the kitchen allowed us to cook for ourselves when local eateries closed. Highly recommend.

nice and quiet
The property was as advertised. very secluded and quiet. it was very clean, spacious and has the basics for a stay. if you like being out in the middle of nowhere, this is the place. 15-20 to Wimberly, 20-30 to Dripping Springs. be ready for a lot of back country road driving.

SHADOWLAND CABIN
Date of check in, 4 hrs later the refrigerator has frozen our food and thawed it when we realized water all over the kitchen floor. IT TOOK 3 days to get a new fridge to the property while our food froze and thawed for 3 days with no offer to replace what we lost. I CALLED VRBO ABOUT THIS AND THEY DON'T CARE EITHER. MICE/RATS got into our DRY FOODS ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. This property is WASP AND RODENT INFESTED AND DROPPINGS ALL THROUGHOUT THE CABIN UNDER THE BEDS IN THE LINEN CLOSET. We had to buy our own mouse traps and the next morning one was on the trap that my husband disposed of and when I called VRBO to let them know we were leaving 5 days early than planned due to the mice, they wanted me to email a picture of the mouse. HOW DISGUSTING IS THAT???!!!! THIS IS ALL VERY UNACCEPTABLE AND WE HAD OUR CHILD AND OUR SMALL DOG WITH US. I booked a house with another company and let me tell you!!! THEY CARE!!! I gave them 5 STAR ratings across the board. This was our first and last experience with VRBO AND HILLS OF TEXAS LODGING-Y'All ARE TERRIBLE WITH COMMUNICATION AND DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR SAFETY AND MONEY SPENT ON FOOD LOST, ETC. I WILL LEAVE A REVIEW ABOUT VRBO ON YELP AS I HAVE ABOUT HILLS OF TEXAS LODGING.

Unforgetable experience
We fell completely in love with this cozy cabin, it exceeded our expectations, it was extremely magical to commemorate our 25th anniversary in this way, we so needed to get away from everything and spend this time alone, my wife and I in contact with nature and this cabin was the perfect place.

Nice Couple's Getaway
In the summer, as long as you only use the master bedroom, this place is great. There's a mini-split in the living room and one in the master. The 2nd bedroom just gets warm. But for us this was no problem. Amenities were great, hot tub worked great, bed was comfy. Wifi internet was spotty but decent enough to make plans when it was delivering signal. Wasps were a nuisance and couldn't find any Raid brand spray at any local store. All other brands are pretty much useless. Unloaded 4 cans on various groups of red wasps and ultimately only saw one actually die. Watched one just fly away with a good dollop of foam on his back! We just limited our time on the back porch to after sundown when they weren't active. Overall this was a great place for my wife and I to get away for a bit and a good location to launch wine country excursions from!
