Getting around Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has a well developed public transit system, as you’d expect from a major capital city. The subway network is known as the subte, and opened back in 1913. It’s a quick and easy way to get around, especially in downtown. Above ground, there’s an extensive bus network running all day and night, while there’s also a free bike share scheme and lots of cycle lanes across the city. Best time to visit

The best times to visit Buenos Aires are the fall and the spring, which in the southern hemisphere fall from April to June and September to December, respectively. These times of year see mild temperatures (highs in the early 70s F/early 20s C in October) without the crowds, heat and humidity of summer. Winter (June to August) is rainy and not as warm, with average highs of around 60 F (15 C).
