The property is beautiful Great parking great security It was not good to have to get out of the pool to walk up and down flights of stairs to the hotel bar to get drinks, there were no servers and who wants to get our of the pool The same issue at the beach, the servers did come by "infrequently" to get a drink order, I don't want to get in and out of the ocean to go get my own drinks The hotel breakfast was very very good and service The hotel restaurants were average and not high quality in my opinion The rooms were pristine and it's very quiet and relaxing We enjoyed the hotel cocktail happy hour night and the gentlemen playing the music

​The Royal Sea Aquarium sits on a beautiful, clean beachfront property with friendly, multilingual staff. However, the front desk is understaffed usually just one receptionist and one concierge, meaning check-in can easily take over 30 minutes after a long day of travel. ​The oceanfront rooms are spacious, clean, and feature true ocean views and a kitchenette. Unfortunately, genuine hospitality ends at the room door. Standard hotel conveniences like in-room coffee, shower caps, and ice buckets are absent unless purchased separately. Additionally, typical resort perks like water sports aren't included, you’ll face extra charges for almost everything ($60 for an ice bucket, $10/hour for kayaks, plus a $30 towel deposit). Most resorts will give you a graceful 1hr late checkout, expect a $25+ fee. Overall, the constant fee-for-service model undermines what could otherwise be a peaceful getaway.

All was well until unfortunately the last day. We were not informed upon checking in that it was mandatory to return yo the front desk to have the room cars rw-activates on account of us paying to stay beyond 12 noon. This caused a major inconvenience when we discovered we were locked out. Secondly, why would the taxi service arrive at 12 noon when the check out time is listed as a late check out at 3pm? Perhaps more collaborative communication is needed, as the reception indicated they tried to contact the room the morning of departure - that should have been dealt with the day before.
