The hotel did not have all the modern ‘bells and whistles’, what it did have was a calm, elegant quintessential and colonial charm. I would take this hotel any day of the week over the modern mega hotels in the surrounding area. A perfect location for a gentle stroll into the town with its many bars and bistro. To top it off, they have a bar that has 2 full size snooker tables in great condition (cues and chalk aplenty). Staff are polite and unobtrusive. If you like peace and quiet this hotel is for you. The 2 pools are great and sizeable and can be used all year round. The breakfast included was very good with a wide selection of cooked and continental with great coffee.

This property was utterly beautiful, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the place itself was gorgeous and so clean. Our bed was massive and we had a fabulous wet room. There was enough basics for you to cook, if required - pans, toaster, hob, kettle and caffè tier, as well as a fridge. Our cleaner was a wonderful character, who brought us fruit from her garden and the breakfast chef, accommodated us so well as vegans- baking vg cookies and providing us with the best breakfasts we’ve had in a hotel. The owners are currently building a restaurant, as well. The outdoor, rooftop garden was so relaxing with ‘out of these world’ views over the city skyline. The location was really convenient for shops, walking to the see front and eateries, as well as sites of interest. Our all time favourite mini break and we are planning to return next year.
