The hotel itself is very nice, clean and convenient to everything in the Zona Romantica. We were there during the cartel violence and the hotel staff kept us safe and secure. Boyfriend was also disappointed that the breakfast buffet was closed as well as the beach bar. We will give it one more chance in May and see if it’s any better when it turns into an all-inclusive property the staff were excellent very very nice room very very clean Lorena our housekeeper was excellent and very nice pool was clean. The property is beautiful. They even allowed us to check in early after a red eye flight, which made a huge difference since we had not slept. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and housekeeping and room service were consistently excellent throughout our stay. A special thank you to Tina at the bar. She was truly friendly, professional, and a pleasure to talk with. Pedro, our server at the restaurant, was also very kind and attentive. Both Tina and Pedro went out of their way to help us navigate the city during special events, which we really appreciated. Armando, the security guard, was also wonderful and made us feel safe and taken care of. Overall, this hotel delivered a clean, relaxing, and well run experience with service that genuinely stands out. We hope to come back and stay again soon. Highly Recommend!! (421 reviews) I highly recommend the Catalina Beach Hotel. Old world style Hotel. Could use some updates, but is clean, beautifully designed, and the service is incredible. The staff are wonderful. The private beach is heaven. The view from the balcony of our room was lovely as was dinner on the terrace. Watching the sun go down over the ocean was incredible. The Staff: Alberto, Hugo, Grace, Julie, Antonio, and Edgar, were so helpful and kind and really helped me out with making sure I did not get anything with gluten in my meals. The only thing I would caution is if someone is in a wheelchair or cannot do stairs. There are a lot of stairs! I got a good workout Daily. Some people didn't like that there was plastic on the windows. I thought it was ingenious. I could hear the ocean at night, but no bugs came in! Bathroom was clean hospitality and cleaning staff were great. We even had daily artistic creations with the towels that delighted us every day. The food was spectacular for dinner. The lunches were not good for gluten-free people, but were spectacular for my kids. And they had wonderful things like Thursday night buffet, and weekend dining on the beach, which was lovely for families, but also very romantic for couples. Location was great, and good security. It felt very safe always.
