Good clean room and an easy place to stay in Rochester. Comfortable bed and all that. The place is showing its age a bit and the elevator doors could use some servicing, but everything functioned. My one complaint is that those are probably the least absorbent towels I've ever used in my life. I recommend someone from the staff actually take a new one home and try it themselves.

So I hate to have to write this but I don’t think we will stay here again. We’ve stayed here a lot over the years with our son at RIT and it was fine. We’re back as our son is getting his PHD at UOfR and well, this hotel needs a lot of clean up. It looks tired. The staff is kind and doing their best, but the rooms themselves are just worn out. The hallway carpeting is exhausted. The breakfast used to be great. It’s not. This was a very clean, cost-effective alternative to spending hundreds during parents weekend etc… or just a quick visit. If you’re thinking that, I’d recommend you go to the other Microtel in Farmington or look around elsewhere. Once this hotel gets an update to walls, carpets, bathrooms, beds, etc.. it will again be a great, convenient, safe spot. As of now, you can’t trust this stay. Room 155 smelled like pee in the bathroom and carpeting. There were hairs in the bathtub and when we walked in the window was open and the screen was off the window. The hotel was full and everything was booked in the area for parents weekend and we were kind of stuck. We wound up lysoling the room, cleaning and bleaching the bathroom ourselves. Again, I am so bummed we need to say this. I hope the hotel returns to the pristine great spot it once was.
