We arrived on a late flight from Schippol and were warmly greeted with iced tea and face towels at reception. The room overlooked the stunning garden and was comfortable and glamorous with everything you needed to relax and unwind after a stressful journey. Complimentary water and bath products slippers and a coffee machine all helped make our stay delightful.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and seemed to delight in solving any dilemmas advising on where to eat and where the markets were they were the stars of the show.
Breakfast was delightful as the dining room overlooks the gardens and the choice of food available meant you lingered and soaked up the beauty of the surroundings
The whole feel of the hotel is stylish dark and mysterious like a Dutch canvas especially in the bar where you can sit in black leather armchairs and watch life on the canal we were very pleased with our choice of hotel for our first visit to Amsterdam....we will be returning very soon

Evening meal excellent. Ate there 3 times. Service charming and attentive.
Breakfast of eg bacon and egg served COLD on hideous cold black plates. Orders for coffee forgotten, prawn omelette served cold with uncooked, inedible prawns. Hash browns had been cooked in oil previously used for fish and therefore inedible. Ordinary FRIED potatoes COLD. Service polite but incompetent. Same for 4 days, very disappointing.

Good hotel in a great location. Whether in Amsterdam for business or pleasure, the Hampshire hotel is good to come to. I especially appreciated a full bathtub, and the key card security on elevator controlling access to the floors.

This well situated hotel provided the perfect setting for a 50th birthday treat. The room had a lovely view over the canal and the staff were friendly, helpful but not intrusive. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel but the dining area provided complementary tea and coffee in the afternoon which we felt was a thoughtful touch. Definitely a special event destination.

The classic Amsterdam image of stately canals, the Canal Loop is principally the Herengracht and Keizersgracht, lined with gracious tall 17th and 18th-century houses. Some of these are now museums, most notably the eccentric Kattenkabinet. The Amstel is a more down-to-earth waterway, lined with houseboats and famous for its classic much–photographed Magere Brug (Skinny Bridge). The floating Flower Market is also a much-loved canal feature.
