easy walking distance in downtown HalifaxPosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: convenience to downtown and the funky decor
we have always loved staying at this hotel because we can park (free parking!) and walk every where, which is a real plus... stroll the boardwalk or up Spring Garden Road to the Public Gardens... this last trip however the full hot breakfast was not quite as sumptuous as in previous times, and I especially missed that bowl of cut fruit

Hotel was okPosted Jul 21, 2014
Good location, within walking distance from most downtown sites and lots of good restaurants. This is a good hotel for someone who doesn't plan on spending much time at the hotel, just looking for a place to crash for the night. The bed wasn't very comfortable. We had a non-smoking room and everything was great at first but when we returned to the room later on that evening our room smelled like cigarettes and it was really awful. We think the smell was coming in through the vents in the bathroom.

Beautiful old Victorian.Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Proximity to attractions.
Cons: Get an elevator!
Location: As above. Great location. Walking distance to the pier, Citadel, restaurants, and historic cemeteries.
Beautiful old Victorian mansion walking distance to most of Halifax's key locations and sites. Painstakingly restored to its original glory. The rooms were comfortable, historic, clean and spacious.

Nice step back in time.Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Location was great, we were able to walk everywhere downtown
Cons: Quieter A/C units in the rooms
A unique building with equally unique rooms and furniture. We loved the Victorian atmosphere. The Inn does not have some conveniences eg: stand alone a/c unit was a bit noisy and there are is no elevator but if you want that go to the sheraton. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Rooms were a bit small but they were laid out in the 1880's

Charming InnPosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: Decor was lovely, felt like being back in time. Staff were wonderful.
Location: Walking distance to the waterfront, many restaurants and historic attractions.
Wanted to try something different from the larger chain hotels. Room was small yet quaint and very charming. Housekeeping stall kept it spotless. Free hot breakfast as well as free parking was a definite bonus.

Very comfortable place to stay.Posted Jun 10, 2014
I was only there for one night as I was visiting my son who lives in Halifax. There were a lot of great restaurants within walking distance as was the waterfront with a beautiful walkway. We also walked through the Park with gorgeous gardens. The bed was very comfortable and the room was perfect.

Historical Waverley InnPosted May 9, 2014
I stayed at the Waverley Inn and walked to a conference I was attending @ the Marriott Waterfront. The Waverley was excellent and the location was easily accessible to the conference location. It was about a 10 minute walk along the boardwalk or one of the streets just above the harbour. On the last day I dragged my luggage with me to the Marriott Habourfront and this to was quite 'doable'. The Waverley is also easily accessible via public bus from the airport. The hotel staff also recommended a nearby restaurant, the 'Henry House' which had three differnet menus on three floors. Also excellent service & food.
