Lovely hotel near harbourPosted Dec 3, 2013
Smaal but perfectly tidy room with all facilities you need and lots if storage options. Staff are super friendly and helpful even in early hours of morning ( useful when arriving on late flights!)

Pros: The view and the conciergers were very helpful
Cons: Dont accept bookings for more than a one night stay
Rooms 10 square metres not ideal for couple staying five nights .. great ocean view but not worth the daily rate ... we forfeited our last nights accommodation and moved elsewhere ... very disappointed .. the pics on yr expedia site imply that the hotel is so much bigger and better than it is.

Tall hotel tower 15 minutes walk from CentralPosted Nov 19, 2013
This is a tall tower hotel (four rooms to a floor, about 30 floors). The entrance is along a street with a highway running over it. It's a block from the tram (which runs one block inland) and perhaps 10 minutes walk from the MRT Sheung Wan station. There are a lot more restaurants once past Sheung Wan than right around the hotel. I didn't actually end up exploring the area to the west of the hotel at all. The hotel rooms were modern and reasonably nice, though the glass bathroom is a rather unusual feature that could be problematic if more than one person is staying in the room. But it's fine with only one person. Entering the hotel was a little interesting, since the lobby (and breakfast restaurant) are one floor up. The breakfast was a little unusual for a hotel breakfast -- it was table service, with four or five options for breakfast, rather than a more typical buffet. But the food was fine.

nice and comfortable, convenient locationPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: comfy bed and harbor view
Cons: bathroom should add shades/curtains
Good: small but nice, clean and quite comfortable, with a good view of the harbor. Conveniently located near the HK-Macau port. Not so good: bathroom has no shades.

Reasonable HotelPosted Nov 14, 2013
Cons: Speed of the lifts.
Location: Soho and star ferry pier is approx 20 min's walk. Peak tram is approx 30 min's walk.
Hotel is located on the quieter side of HK island about 20 min's walk to star ferry pier or Soho. The room are compact and the lift can be very slow. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. There isn't much eating places close by after hours. We were given a room right on the top floor which had nice views.

Dimly lit : No makeup mirrorPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: The people at the front desk are very helpful, patient and nice.
Cons: Correct their posted information. If they say something is there, then it should be.
The description of the amenities included a make up mirror but this is not true. I was in two rooms and they both do not have make up mirrors. I need the mirror to put on my makeup because I am near-sighted. On top of this, the room is poorly lit. So without a makeup mirror and a dark room, it is very difficult to put on your makeup. The brightest spot in the room is under the light that is over the sink. And for most of my stay, it was not working. I had to call the front desk on four occasions on different days before it was properly fixed. They were too cheap to replace a tiny plastic piece, so they fiddled with it. Got it going and left, but not too long later it would fail. One time, it was immediately. So day after day, I had to waste time having a maintenance guy try to fix the light. And finally the room is too small. I am a small Asian lady living in the room by myself and I find it barely suitable. There was no room for me to put my luggage. I think Island Pacific and Metropark are much better choices.
