Very disappointing stay at NY Marriott East

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Fruit water in lobby, location
Cons: Service and retaurant prices are prohibitive!
Upon arrival, the cable was out - no TV for 2 days. I found my room at 3 PM not cleaned and there had been no privacy notice placed at door. I also needed to ask hotel services to send up toilet paper! Not what I hope or expect in New York City or from a Marriott after paying city prices! I was offered Marriott points for the inconvenience.......however, Marriott points have greatly diminished in value and I'm soon departing from my Marriott Rewards Visa card........

Great Hotel for business or pleasure in NYC

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: I liked the location most of all and the Brass Grill and Bar downstairs has the best breakfast imaginable.
Booked last minute and had a problem finding a hotel with two double beds, however I found this hotel and they had two rooms with a king in each so I took it. The price was very fair and the quality of the hotel product was the normal good level expected of a Marriott property.

Nothing special. You pay for a Marriott hotel.

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: It is comfortable and very clean.
Very clean and comfortable. Location is okay, but it takes about 15-20 minutes walk to Broadway or Times Square. It is about 30 min. walk to Penn Station. We reserved through Expedia and they claimed that there was free wifi. Yes, there is but only in the lobby. In your room is 16.95 per day. I would have looked for a different hotel had I known. Our first attempt to reach the concierge failed after waiting for almost 12 min (he was talking on the phone). Our second interaction with the concierge was not very efficient. She sent us to a restaurant for breakfast called Morningstar. We wanted something close with good breakfast and wifi. The restaurant is very small, nothing special about the breakfast, NO WIFI and it is almost 10 min. walk from the hotel Not very helpful.

Very clean and convenient to Grand Central - walking distance if you don't have a lot of luggage.

Great location, reasonable price

Posted Jul 10, 2015
The best part of this hotel is its location, in the heart of Midtown East. It also has a pretty decent gym for a hotel. We were near good subway lines and we could easily find cheaper places for breakfast as well as other good restaurants, excellent shopping, and shows/nightlife. Our beds were comfortable, and the airconditioning (during a muggy week!) was excellent. The negatives: no TV for almost our entire stay, due to a broken cable. The hotel gave us an extra bunch of Marriott points to make up for, which was fair. The rooms were made up daily, but could have been a little more thoroughly cleaned (I found a screw on the floor next to the bed which could have been stepped on and should have been vacuumed up). That said, I'd definitely stay here again and thought it was a great value for the location.

Nice location, small rooms

Posted Jul 8, 2015
Pros: Location Location Location
Cons: Size of rooms. A bit hard to increase this, but really small.
Location: Short walks to Times Square, Central Park, 30 Rock, Grand Central, Halal Guys, Radio City.
I have stayed here a few times in the past. Good location, seems central to alot of things to do in Mid-Town. The rooms are crazy small and my bathroom was even smaller. From the sink to the shower was not even a full step for someone my height. But the beds are comfy, location is great, staff is friendly and outgoing and helpful. Never an issue with this place when I stay there.

perfect location to everything. yet quiet and off

Cons: can't say enough about keeping it as clean as it is and we'll come back.
the hotel lobby bar tender you assisted my daughter and I on thursday and friday night was the best ever experience. he should know that. he was understanding, served us professionally, was congenial, and very sensing to our particular needs. kudos to his approach and style. he is an asset to the hotel.
