Pleasantly surprised

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Stately home in beautiful grounds. Rooms in hotel wings (not main house) were reasonably priced. Good indoor pool. Good for golfers.
Cons: Rooms are a bit run down. Breakfast price over the odds.
Location: Golf, swimming, lovely Cotswolds towns within easy reach.
Great setting, nice pool, stately home turned into a hotel. Rooms OK & reasonably priced. Didn't have breakfast - nearly $A40/head is too rich for us. Local towns OK for dinner.

beautiful old house in nice grounds

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: beautiful old house in nice grounds
Cons: the rooms look like they are from the 70s or 80s they need repair and updating
Location: English countryside and cotswold villages local town has shopping and pubs
the hotel looked great but the rooms let it down very small cramped bathroom window rotting and glass cracked no air conditioning not even a fan or cross breeze felt like a sauna

Lovely, was pleasantly surprised.

We stayed in the "cheaper" of the two hotels on the Heythrop golf estate. The hotel was extremely nice, had clearly been recently modernised and was decorated to a high standard. I would have been gutted to have paid double for the Crown Plaza when there really was no need. Highly recommended. Only down fall was the taxi fair to Blenheim palace was £35 each way so there were closer options.

Very grand surroundings

Pros: Fabulous grounds to walk in and pleasant surrounding countryside
You stay in the wing of a large country house but unfortunately the rooms are very cramped and almost like student accommodation. Very expensive option if you take breakfast.

WONDERFUL!

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: We like the building! and the people working there is so kind and friendly.
Cons: The look of the bedding: the blanket or throw looks so cheap and "old" and the pillows are so flat.
Location: The location is OK if you want to stay away of everything, I think you can spend good time at the hotel and in all the green areas that has.
I just can say for the money that we paid, my husband and I have had a marvellous time!

Luxury for a bargain price

Posted Jul 3, 2014
A desperate hunt for reasonably priced overnight accommodation in order for my daughter and I to be present at the birth of my first grandchild the next day. What a fabulous find! Cheaper than the local Holiday Inn and luxury to the power 10! Wonderful staff! Delicious Bar food in the Brasserie, only sad we were too exhausted to use the pool! Thankyou for a relaxing, refreshing stay
