Nice place, but dont pay extra for lakeview

Very nice hotel, staff very friendly. Only complaint was that I paid extra for a room with a lakeview and I filled the bathtub up and could see more water in the tub than I could see in the lake. I would stay here a gain.

A very nice and convenient hotel

I was satisfied with the hotel and had a good experience there. My only complaint was that I could hear the noise from next door.

Great Location

I would highly recommend this hotel to business travelers. It is in a great location. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean and the beds were awesome!!!

Magnificant mail

Some small things missed, for example they do not provide slippers which can be problem aalthough it doesn’t look like at the first thought.

Great location, will go back

Loved Chicago and stayin at the doubletree was great. The staff was helpful and the location was great. Rooms very comfortable and the gym and pool were superb!!

Not Impressed

We checked in to our hotel only to find that they had overbooked all the rooms. We were supposed to have a lake view room we had a room overlooking the pool? I would not recommend this hotel to anyone we were not satisfied! The only people that were helpful were the bell men.

Would recommend

Very friendly staff, pillows are a must have! I would stay here again! Very clean and well maintained. Parking a little costly especially when you are a guest at the hotel.

Enjoyed our stay!

Location was great for Navy Pier, Magnificent mile, eating out and public transportation. Was very pleased with our room. Lake view upgrade was not worth it but not enough of a difference to care much.

Great Get Away!

The Doubletree was excellent. The service was wonderful. the rooms were comfortable. The location was very accessable to the "MILE". And not to mention the fabulous drinks that were prepared at the bar. Lets not forget the warm chocolate chip cookies that are prepared especially for the guest!

Bad!!! Lake view room is not possible!

Don’t pay extra for Lake view room! This is a lie. They charge you more but in fact it is impossible to have a lake view from that building while taller building are between you and lake! Never go to doubletree again...

Great Experience at Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile

We stayed at the Doubletree in Chicago prior to a family reunion and had a wonderful experience. Hotel front desk help was very polite and friendly. Concierge - also very friendly. Excellent location. We did not have a car so we walked everywhere. Close enough to walk to Millenium Park, Navy Pier, Willis Tower, shopping. We had a great stay!

Overall Great Hospitality

The hotel staff was approachable and friendly. The rooms were big enough and clean. Check-in and check-out was easy. Did not use the restaurant. Lobby was spacious and comfortable to use. Great location.

Within walking distance to many attractions, or a short water taxi, bus or cab ride to others. No need for a car!

Great hotel

Great location! I was really impressed with the size of the rooms, especially for a major city. Only 2 blocks from the Mag Mile and prices were quite reasonable.

Take the train to/from the airport. The hotel is only a few blocks from the blue line and travel is quite simple.

The indoor pool was not available during our stay but was being worked on. That would have been the only thing we would have used that we could not use.

No thanks

I’d never stay there again. In fact had the hotel been refundable, we would have changed hotels mid trip. It is simply not worth it for the money. There are too many other options, within blocks that have better rooms, better anemities, include parking, have vent fans in the bathrooms, replace toiletries daily, include parking, have small refridgerators and microwaves in room, in room safe. In fact there were zero ’niceities’ to the room.

Ok but there may be better

There are a ton of hotels in this same area and I’m not sure this is one of the best given the high prices. I was traveling with someone in a wheelchair and was extremely disappointed to find out the rooftop pool was not accessible for her. Needless to say, it put a damper on our vacation. The room was just ok...the first room we were given was facing a brick wall on the first floor. Obviously, that was not suitable, so the second room we got was on the 5th floor and was much better. Check out all the options before booking!

Excellent location

Two blocks from The Magnificent Mile, one block from Lake Michigan, two blocks from the Chicago River, well connected to the excellent Chicago bus service. Walking distance to the Chicago Art Institute and the Millenium Park, river cruises, the pier, etc. Didn’t like the lobby area or the outside pool. It does not have an excercise room but for $10.00 you can go to a health club two blocks away. The rooms/bathrooms were comfortable and clean.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Wonderful and friendly city. Before going I was thinking about buying the Go Chicago card but I am glad I didn’t. Museums are too big and you won’t have the time to visit too many attractions. Don’t miss the Field Museum, the Chicago Art Institute and the Museum of Science & Technology. The rivers cruise sponsored by the Chicago Architectural Society is the best (the First Lady). Buy the full day pass for the bus, you will save. Don’t waste your time in going to Chinatown.

This hotel was in an excellent location-within walking distance of all area attractions. The pool was nice and the personnel were extremely accommodating.

Use "CTA" to get around either by bus, or the "L" and all the restaurants, attractions, night life will be very accessable.

Don’t pay extra for Lake View!

Excellent location You can walk to all the tourist places in less than 10 mins Ckeck in staff very pleasant Only negative- which was a disappointment not a major problem- was the "lake view room" for which I paid extra It was barely possible to see a sliver of blue and blocks away between 2 skyscrapers -I will stay here again on my next trip to Chicago

Navy Pier which is a 10 min walk away is a must -especially if you have children- Check out the stained glass exhibit there and take the boat tour
