Great Chicago Location

Clean, quiet room. Lilliputian bathroom. All in all pretty good location, nice people...good place to stay.

hotel is fine. good location. price alright for downtown Chicago. rooms are small, but that is probably true of most downtown hotels.

Nice restored building

Great location. Art Deco feel. Nicely updated and restored building. My room had no view. Perhaps a request for higher floor would be in order if you want a view. I only stayed one night so did not really care. Very clean room and bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spotless and seemed new. Very small sink, however, if that matters to you. Had a tub/shower combo which I prefer over just a shower in the room. Large flat screen tv but if you stay in this location of the Loop, you will have access to so many activities, you won’t be watching television.

State Street is better than Mag Mile for bargain shopping.

Cute Boutique Hotel

Can’t say enough good things about this gorgeous boutique hotel in the theater district of Chicago. We got a GREAT rate on our room and it was LOVELY!!!! The conceirge (sp) was soooooo wonderful and knowledgable about the goings-on in Chicago. We had a great time and I can’t wait to get back and stay there again!

Perfect for downtown visit

This hotel was perfect for our trip to downtown Chicago. We could walk to the park, the pier, and all the museums. The hotel itself was beautiful and the concierge was fabulous. We would definitely stay here again.

Artfully decorated, comfortable and so easy to drive to!

I highly recommend this hotel. The service was efficient and friendly, the lobby and rooms are gorgeous and fun, and it was so easy to access from the interstate. I plan to stay here again.

What a treat!

I was spending a long weekend in Chicago and wanted to be close to everything. The hotel could not have been more conveniently located. Beautiful building and relatively well maintained. The staff is really friendly and always able to assist you with all your needs&questions. The wine receptions in the lobby was a nice perk. I had to work one evening upon my return to the hotel, but didn’t want to stay in my room, so I ended up working in this nice environment with wine and cheese--perfect timing! Clean rooms, no disturbances, and a comfortable bed. I cannot think of anything better!

Check out Mercadito, a Mexican restaurant not too far from the hotel. Great food and atmosphere.

Very pleased

From the minute we drove up to the hotel, the staff were exceptional. The desk staff and concierge were a lot of fun, as all the staff have their favourite movie listed under their name on their tags. That’s how we found out several things to do in Chicago we would’ve otherwise missed!

Hard to beat value

I’ve never had such a helpful and courteous staff. If I go back to Chicago I WILL be staying at Hotel Allegro. This hotel made my stay in Chicago much more enjoyable. Thank you Hotel Allegro.

Nice Place

My comments: * Great location in downtown Chicago * Beautiful lobby area with 5p open wine bar * Great service - super friendly * VERY pet friendly - lots of dogs (not a problem) * Room rather small (typical for center of Chicago) and very dated * Very nice bathroom - almost as roomy as the room itself Cheers.

Interesting that such a pet-friendly hotel wouldn’t be near one little patch of grass. Had to walk to the lake, about 6 blocks away (through traffic) every time the dog needed to do her biz.

Would Return If The Price Was Right

Was very pleased with Expedia Rate, which included parking. Hotel is a little out of the way from it all, but it is within walking distance to the "EL". Used taxis to get to the Miracle Mile and in the evening to get around. Could not believe that there was not a coffee maker in the room. Morning coffee is offered in the lobby at a coffee stand for a price. Free wine was offered in the early evening. Many good eating places in the area. Would return if the price was right.

Definately stay there again!

Great hotel, RIGHT in the middle of Chicago and the theatre district. 3 blocks from Millenium Mile, the Art Institue. We never took a taxi or the El, always able to walk. The hotel was really clean, superb service, modern decor, great price but felt like I was staying in a much more expensive hotel because of the service!

Quaint, upscale Chicago hotel

The hotel was excellently located and tastefully decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly. The only issue is the rooms are a tad on the small side. It is an older, newly modernized hotel with tight quarters. Overall, the hotel was a perfect fit for our stay

good location, quite confortable and elegant (funky). The adjacent 312 restaurant is very good.

Most relaxing night in Chicago

Comfortable, clean, quiet and relaxing night before flight back to Europe. Definitely my choice for Chicago hotel in future.

Found the rooms to be very small.... no drawers for clothes... no hangers in closet fhad to request a suitcase stand. Overall not a place I would return to.

Bathrooms TINY!

The rooms were great, the only fault I could find was the TINY bathrooms. The sinks had no counter space and it made getting ready with toiletries very difficult.

Room to small, too noisy

The room was quite small, we could not both sit down without one being on the bed. Also, there was a lot of noise from other rooms and in the hall way all night long. The first night was ok, but the second night I was awake a lot because of the commotion.

Use the concierge! The boys at Hotel Allegro organized a few activities for us and it was easier than trying to plan for ourselves.

Clean room, very nice hotel, comfortable beds, cleanest ever seen

Great hotel, great location, not 5 star hotel but wouldn’t need more, great price through Expedia. Clean bathrooms, very comfortable pristine white beds with clean linen (no ugly dirty bed covers, covers inside linen). Very independent feeling, can go in and out of hotel without anyone bothering you. Parking around corner. Will only go there when I go back to Chicago. Great staff, no problems at all.

Allegro is conveniently placed, transportation, restaurants and shopping all around. Get the full feel of Chicago from this comfortable hotel without paying for being super fancy. Plenty fancy and clean. Very good experience. Has a safe in the room and minibar (safe is hidden in desk).

Hotel Allegro issues

Good: lovely lobby, nice meeting rooms. Bad: shallow sink basin/low faucet--can’t wash hair in sink; many women bathe at night, then wash hair in sink in a.m. their design does not permit--very annoying. No coffee maker;tiny bathroom;no morning paper. Room service never got any of 3 orders entirely correct; something always missing, and steak ordered rare came well done; could barely cut, much less eat.
