Chicago’s best hotel!

A very comfortable and quiet hotel. The location is superb, everything you can imagine is right around the corner, watertower, Michigan avenue, rush street... I go to Chicago all the time, and this is by far the best hotel I have stayed in there.

If ever in the loop district, try the Russian tea time restaurant, the afternoon tea service there is incredible.

Superb location, excellent service and staff, great rooms with great views of the city and Lake Michigan. Will definitely stay there again.

Easily withing walking distance of so much dining and shopping. Great architectural buildings all through the downtown.

So clean and new-looking

I honestly don’t know how long this hotel has been opened but I was very impressed with cleanliness and newish looking interior and rooms.The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, two people could definitely get ready in there at the same time. The room service was not too overpriced but the service could have been a bit quicker.

As Good As It Gets

One of the best experiences we can remember. After years of traveling internationally and domestically (primarily for business) and in this very soft economy we wondered if service and quality might have been cut back. No evidence of that at all. Cannot comment about the retaurants as we did not eat there but service was above average and room furnishings were all that one would expect. Very nice.

First trip to Chicago for the marathon. Hotel was convenient to shopping and restaurants. Overall a great experience.

Bar in the hotel was very nice - has a fireplace and warm atmosphere. great location, 2 blocks from the best shopping and 2 blocks from some of the best restaurants. Will definately stay there on every return visit.

Excellent Hotel

From the moment we entered the lobby, the excellent design and comfort was obvious. All staff was extremely friendly, and willing to do what they could. Room service (breakfast) was certainly above average in both quality and choices. I would certainly go back.

Great Stay at Sofitel

Spent a 3 day weekend at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and very much enjoyed it. The hotel is modern, the staff very welcoming and the location is outstanding. The hotel is very close to all the sights but since it is a block or so off Michigan Ave you don’t walk out into a packed street. It’s also close to the CTA and taxis queue right outside the front door making it very convenient to get around if you visiting places outside the downtown area. If you like to have wine & snacks in the room (like I do) there’s a market around the corner on State and a cute bakery on Delaware. The room was very comfortable with a good layout and enough space for 2 people. We were on the 16th floor looking east so there were no real landmarks in our view but a big view is nice to have no matter what. The amenities provided in the room were great. Enjoyed the use of the fluffy robe and slippers. My only disappointment was the bathtub which is very shallow and not what you would consider a "soaking tub". But the shower was fantastic- great water pressure. I appreciated the turn down service which included a bottle of Evian. Didn’t try the restaurant or room service since there are so many wonderful places to eat in Chicago! Great place to stay- comfortable, modern and stylish. Perfect location. Would definitely stay here again.

Go to Gibsons Steakhouse, make reservation. Do a city tour and river cruise. Go right out of hotel, one block, great breakfast restaurant. Be prepared, sales tax is 11.25%!!

Great experience

Loved everything about the hotel. The Bar was great for a late night drink and snack. Yummy!!!! My only complaint is that there is no sheet on the bed to cover up with only the comforter. I wondered how often those comforter covers were laundered.

Great Hotel

Excellent location convenient to restaurants and shopping. Business meetings are a short taxi ride. Hotel is clean and service is great. Parking is too expensive.

This hotel is very close to the N. Michigan Ave. shopping. Also very close to many excellent restaurants, night clubs.

Superb Hotel

We flew into Chicago from NYC for one night to see Pearl Jam perform at the United Center. From the doormen to the concierge staff, everyone we came into contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean and well kept and the bed was amazingly comfortable! Although we only spent one night, The Sofitel left a positive impression on us.

Very impressed

Exceeded my expectations as soon as I saw the room. I had two rooms next to each other, as I had my family with me and we spent 2 nights. Location is terrific! I’ve stay at most all the hotels in Chicago and this was our first time here. I would certainly stay again.

Excellent Hotel in Downtown Chicago

I surprised my wife on her birthday with a trip to Chicago. I found this hotel via Expedia and the glowing reviews are what convinced me to book a room (that and the special rate). I’m glad that I did! The room was small, but beautiful. LCD TV, king bed (very comfy), marble bathroom. The only annoying thing about the room was they only provided two washcloths per night. We never tried to ask for more washcloths, tho. The service was excellent, the concierge was extremely helpful, the location can’t be any more perfect...just a couple blocks from the Michigan Mile. On checkout, I was told that we had drank a coke from the wet bar. However, we had bought some snacks from the corner grocery and put them in the wet bar. I guess there is a sensor that triggers a purchase. No big, the hotel quickly waived the charge after I explained. Overall I would stay here again!

Eat at Mike Ditka’s which is just 1/2 a block from the hotel...probably the best steaks we ever had!

Great location! Recommended except for a couple things...

We’ve gone back a few times for the same reasons... great location and condition of the hotel in general. We learned not to valet ’cause we noticed how they were not very reliable with getting your car out front, took 2-3 calls plus doorman had to check twice -- not great when you are on a schedule. One other stay, room service took over an hour and a half. I guess they just got really busy... It helps that Expedia offers deals and one can put aside these incidents.

Will stay here again and again!!

From the moment we stepped out of our cab to the moment we left. The door man and front desk staff are courteous and very professional. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and they sent us chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of water upon our arrival. The location of the hotel was ideal, just one block from the Hancock observatory. Within walking distance to all other major attractions. The L train is just down the street. The room itself was very comfortable, the bathroom was big.

Will stay again

We stayed 5 days and found accommodations very good. Great location for walking, touring, restaurants and sight seeing. Hotel very clean, good bar/lounge, good restaurant, friendly staff. Housekeeping inconsistent, some nights amenities were provided, other nights nothing. Would recommend staying to friends and relatives.

Beautiful Hotel

Recently stayed at the Sofitel in Chicago in August. Hotel was fabulous. Room was very comfy, but a little small. The restaurant was fantastic and the bar very relaxing. Loved the business center where we went online and ordered our tickets for the museums so we didn’t have to wait in line. Location was perfect.

Monamia Gabi was an excellent dinner choice and Murphy’s Bleacher Bar was a great bar to hang out at. Also, enjoyed late night at Mr. Beef.
