"Staff was great and friendly, dealt with issues promptly (leaky shower), blessedly spoke English, we never felt unsafe in the neighborhood, plenty of nearby dining options for every palate, very walkable and close to the Metro Marques de Pombal stop, plenty of hot water. "We weren’t expecting much from this as a one night cheap stay but the hotel was fantastic - kind and helpful staff, clean and spacious room, great breakfast. The little things impressed us a lot - like a case weighing scale in reception to save faffing at the airport, and screens at reception with flight times. Just nice thoughtful things that would be good to have in other places!"

"It's a simple room in a good location. It's 10 minutes to the city center. I like they have 24/7 front desk service."

Need to note two things - first is that the area is very noisy at night and street sounds are load, which means earplugs if you don't want it to bother you. Second - the double bed is 140x190 cm in size, good if you're average size, but can be an issue for the big & tall. "

There is nothing open in the are that early so we were forced to wander the area until 9:00 am when the castle opened. They did take care of our bags to their credit.
