“Everything in our room was beautifully done. The lighting was awesome. Beds were soft. The only downfall is they didn’t have “lifts” or elevators and we were up on the 3rd floor.”
“A good, clean, well-maintained hotel. Kind and helpful staff who were professional. Room was clean and well maintained. Free car parking on-site. Good food and very substantial breakfast.”
“Friendly and helpful staff and excellent food in restaurant. Nice Lochside location. Great location for visiting the nearby Dumfries House a short drive away.”
“Large carpark behind the hotel but filled up quickly at the weekend and 2 or 3 in front of the hotel probably for check in.
Staff were great, knowledgeable and a smile on their faces. Which is a big thing with me. Check in went smooth and a first floor room there is a lift should you need it.
The room was clean comfortable, with the usual included in the price shampoos, soap, Nespresso machine and a kettle for tea. TV which was a smart TV be it wasn't connect to the free fast ish wifi.

“Splendid historic manse with large bedroom, private bathroom and lovely quiet location. A comfortable two night stay provided by a lovely host serving up a terrific breakfast and great advice for enjoying the countryside and historic houses close by. ”
“Helt fantastiskt! Bästa Guest House jag varit på, även om jag inte varit på jättemånga. Stora rum, otroligt rent, kändes nyrenoverat och en stor härlig skotsk frukost 😁 Sally och Ian var otroligt trevliga! Rekommenderas.”
“Southpark House is a well run guest house in a fabulous location. The owners are very welcoming and friendly. The guest house is well maintained and extremely clean. Breakfast is out of this world, freshly cooked and a fantastic selection to choose from. The bedroom was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable and the en-suite was pristine. An absolute joy to stay there. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Dumfries and the surrounding areas.”
