I recently stayed at the Tropicana Atlantic City with my children for a special trip celebrating my son’s 7 years cancer-free and in remission. While we still made memories together, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Check-in took nearly an hour, the outdoor family pool was closed for maintenance, and when we tried the indoor pool, it was shut down within minutes because of what appeared to be an electrical issue. My son wasn’t able to enjoy either pool during our stay, even though the pools were one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Our “updated” room also had several maintenance issues, including a bathtub that didn’t drain properly, inconsistent water pressure, a refrigerator that barely cooled, and USB charging ports on the desk that didn’t work. On top of that, elevator wait times were excessive, sometimes taking up to 45 minutes because multiple elevators were out of service. I do want to recognize Umma at the front desk and Alfonso from housekeeping. They were both professional, kind, and genuinely helpful despite the many issues we encountered. Unfortunately, the number of maintenance problems and closed amenities put a significant damper on what was supposed to be a meaningful family celebration. I hope Tropicana addresses these issues so future guests have a much better experience.

Place is clean and staff is always very friendly. Just wish the A/C ran better in middle of the night it gets hot. But besides that great place to stay.
