“The room was tired and Amenities were poor. Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Reception welcome was far from a welcome. The bathroom was filthy with black mould marks and the Bathroom door was completely rotten. The walls were paper thin - I was kept awake until after midnight. I phoning reception 3 times to ask if the room next door could turn their television down which was blaring for hours. After the third phone call over 2 hours they eventually did at 10.30pm. “Sorry to give such a bad rating because the hotel was fine. The issue was a wedding that had a loud disco and noisy drunk guests until midnight. I only got to sleep properly about 1am and was shattered for the next 2 days, it was a long drive there and back to get to the hotel and I was on a paid course so not a good experience.”

“The Black lion is a lovely pub in the heart of Richmond. Our stay was only for one night, but we had a great time. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was big, with plenty of space to get changed, a nice shower and a comfy bed. The bar was lively and drinks were reasonably priced. The cocktails are excellent and 2 for £12 we didn't eat at the pub, but the food looked nice. Richmond in north Yorkshire is worth visiting for sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again.”
