With no hot breakfast, pool, or fitness center due to Covid, this Homewood is very overpriced for the experience it offers. The plastic tarp they bought at Home Depot and taped over the front desk was over the top silly and not conducive to hospitality. There are better ways to encourage a bit of social distancing and Homewood is being outdone by hundreds of sandwich shops and other businesses that somehow manage to look at their customers. Also, as a minor disappointment the amenities in our room were not up to usual Homewood standards: Incomplete linens for the sofa bed, phone didn’t work, minimal kitchen utensils, cheap-o toilet paper, and room lighting that was unusually dim. Not a huge deal but I was already alienated by the HazMat check-in experience so maybe I was more cranky and prone to look for other deficiencies. Homewood is my favorite hotel but they were bested by several less expensive Holiday Inn Express stays on this particular driving trip.
