Rest, Relax and Renew. Our log cabin experience awaits your arrival.

The Goddard Place is located 5 miles East of Anna off of Route 146. We only have one cabin. It is close to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Wine Trail and the Shawnee National Forest. Your cabin features a living area with a sleeper sofa (for the young ones in the family), a recliner, a 32' flat screen television with DirecTV and a DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, glassware and silverware. The queen sleigh bed, jacuzzi tub and lavatory complete the room. There is a shower and plenty of towels are provided. All you need to bring is your provisions!!

Cabin was very cute and tidy. The pond added fun for some fishing.
The cabin was adorable. The grounds around the pond and the cabin were all neatly mowed. Pond gave us extra excitement for our short trip as we fished. Really enjoyed our stay in this great little cabin. It didn’t bother us as we read all the amenities, but there is no stove. Just know this. There is a microwave though. Also the DIRECTV has about every station you can possibly think of to watch.Including Pay stations. This is a 9 out of 10. Super relaxing!

Very happy with the cabin
Very please and enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend the place. I will make a suggestion for the cleaner. My wife has a skin sensitivity and we have come accustom to using only soaps that have no smell. The bed linens and bath towels were washed with a scented detergent and for us was a bit too much. Other than that a great experience. Thank you for making a great place to get away.

This cabin is perfect for a couple to get away for a few days. Easy check-in and check-out, great location for hiking in Shawnee National forest. We had a minor issue with the heat in the cabin when we first arrived. After a text, Chris arrived within a few minutes and made sure everything was working. Definitely worth staying here !!

We were able to relax in the cabin, as it was cozy and comfortable and great to come back to after spending the day hiking and wine tasting. As lifelong Illinois residents, we never realized this beautiful countryside was so close to home.

This is going to be a yearly visit for my hubby and I. We stayed during the winter, and arrived to a pre-heated cabin, with everything label and simple to find. The small lake and surrounding trees made for a lovely view while sipping coffee in the morning and make a beautiful spot to unplug a bit to enjoy the world around you.

A Very Special Birthday Stay!
We had a fantastic couple nights' stay at this very cozy log cabin! The owner helped make things even more special by helping me have flowers there when we arrived for my wife's birthday. The area around the cabin was very lovely and we even got to do alittle fishing during our stay. We highly recommend this place and we will definitely make a return visit!

Goddard Place is an awesome place to stay if you want quiet, peaceful, and efficient lodging. We enjoyed the cabin so much that we forgot to check out! We enjoyed the wine trail and the area around the cabin. It's a bit far if you want to hike Garden of the Gods or some of the other areas of Shawnee NF, tho we did that too. Chris was pleasant and interesting. And, we owe him a giant deep dish pizza.

Just what we needed !!!!!!!
When we arrived our cabin was nice and cool. We were fortunate enough to have a crisp evening and enjoyed a fire outside in the pit. Our host was kind enough to allow us to help ourselves to some firewood. Bed was comfy and the shower was great. Would recommend you give this sweet cabin a try.
