"Great location"
This hotel has a great location, lots of restaurants, bars and things to do near by. It is a nice hotel but a little overpriced for what it is.

Habitat Suites

500 E Highland Mall Blvd, Austin 78752 - Map
"Spacious, quiet, well cared for"
The Habitat Suites may have been a Marriott Residence Inn in a former life, at least that what it appears to have been. The hotel is quite nice, I would highly recommend it. I had a one bedroom suite which was a small apartment with a full kitchen with full size appliances and dishwasher. It included a small dining table and breakfast bar, large couch/ hide-a-bed and TV with cable. The Bedroom was huge with a comfy king bed and another TV. Everything was very clean. The stove, dishwasher and fridge are not new but were clean and operational. Habitat has an incredible breakfast that is, amazingly free. It is more or less a nice sunday brunch with made to order egs, omlettes, pancakes, everything you could want plus fresh fruit and yogurts, pastries, coffees and juices, I haven't seen anything like this outside a $12 or $20 actual restaurant buffet. I don't know how they pull this off! They also have a weekday cocktail hour, again, this is pretty above and beyond! The property is nice with a pool, no spa. The nearby mall that you see on the map is closed permanently, it has a community college in part of it now. There is dining in the area, at the least a short drive but mostly you will need to drive.

Wyndham Garden Hotel Austin

3401 South I-35, Austin 78741 - Map
"Would rate a 3.5"
Overall, the hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and the amenities were good. The two things which were a bit disappointing were that breakfast was not included and was pretty expensive. There is a cafe from which you can order scones and such and that's what we did the second morning. Also, the shuttle to the airport run only on the hour. If they offered on the half hour also, it would be much more convenient.
