This waterfront parkis a favorite destination for New Yorkers and tourists alike, offering a quietrefuge from the hustle and bustle of downtown New York. Overlooking the NewYork Bay, Battery Park is the departure point for many of New York’s ferries,including the Staten Island, Ellis Island and Liberty Island ferries. BatteryPark is located on the southernmost tip of Manhattan, and is best reached bytrain. The Whitehall and Bowling Green stations are both situated at the edgeof the park. Visitors arriving from New Jersey or Staten Island can reach thepark by ferry, as the main ferry terminal for New York City is located next tothe park. Battery Park is open daily, and there is no fee for admission.
