Lakefront cabin with Hot Tub! Escape the chaos of life in this cozy cottage on the beautiful Hohman Lake. This 1 bedroom cabin is nestled on an 80-acre private lake and is a peaceful retreat off the beaten path, yet only minutes from town. There are no jet skis or motors above 5hp allowed on the lake, so it is incredibly quiet and peaceful. With beautiful views, great fishing, kayaking, and nature right outside your door, you are sure to unwind. This cabin sits on the edge of Shawnee National Forest where you can find hiking, rock climbing, waterfalls, mountain biking, and other outdoor recreation. If that isn't your cup of tea, then you can drink wine on Southern Illinois' world-famous wine trails or try your luck at the riverboat casino only 15 minutes away. DISCOUNTS are given for weekly bookings.

Clean and cozy
We had a wonderful time mostly. The house had all the kitchen items we needed. The bathroom was stocked with tp and towels. Plenty of blankets and pillows. There was severe weather. So, both mornings we woke up with no power. But, when there was power, the WiFi worked great and the hot tub was so relaxing. We took advantage of fishing in between the storms. Wish the weather would’ve been better, but not much the owners can do about that. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family for a couples retreat or even a family with a couple younger kids.

Relaxing Getaway
We loved our time in this cottage. It was a getaway for our anniversary and it was the first time without any kids in about 8 years.. This property met all expectations and even exceeded some The cottage was clean and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The mist rising over the lake in the mornings was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, the hot tub and the quiet of the lake. I would highly recommend this accommodation. The property was clean and communication was good for anything we needed. The dirt road in and out might be a little rough for some people but I'm an old country boy and I expect that in any place with this kind of privacy. The drive to Paducah Kentucky could be done in less than 30 minutes. You can also hit the town of metropolis Illinois in about 20 minutes. Both of these sounds have access to some good local shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed the national quilt museum, the Superman museum and local restaurants. Overall we encountered 20 different species of wildlife. We enjoyed watching the turtles pop up all over the lake and hearing the frogs and crickets at night. We were able to lay on the dock and watch the stars. We even saw some shooting stars.

Beautiful place
We enjoyed our stay here very much. The cabin was perfect for the two of us and exactly the relaxing, peaceful getaway trip we were looking for. The last couple of miles back to the lake are a gravel road and quite rough so I wouldn't recommend driving a low profile vehicle on it but other than that, the cabin itself is very nice and stocked with everything you could possibly need. Check in and check out was extremely smooth and the owner was very accommodating when I asked to add an extra day to the booking. Highly recommend this place.

This is a lovely lakeside cabin with a glorious porch overlooking a small lake. It was impeccably clean and welcoming with its guest book and hot tub. There was an eclectic collection of DVDs available to watch. The only glitch was that on our third and final night, a big security light was turned on nearby and spewed light onto our porch and into the house all night. Except for that light, it was an incredibly relaxing getaway.

Perfect Getaway
We absolutely loved it here! We stayed early summer 2022 and it was a great way for us to relax and have a good time with one another. We took advantage of the kayaks and both loved it so much that we went out and bought kayaks for home! We really enjoyed having some bonfires and relaxing in the hot tub. Also, the visitor book was a cute idea! We would definitely go back. Only downfall was being so far away from town, but we were perfectly content with getting some groceries our first night and cooking for ourselves during our stay. Thank you for having us!

Peaceful lakeside stay
This cabin was perfect for a relaxing week. The area is so quiet even with quite a few other cabins tucked around the lake. Cell signal is extremely weak so great opportunity to get away from things. Close enough to Metropolis and Paducah to get groceries, have a meal out, or enjoy some sightseeing. Great base to take in the Shawnee National Forest. We loved it here.

More geared toward couples but the family loved it!
Though it sleeps 4, there are only two kayaks, stools, chairs, etc. With that being said, me and my two sons still thoroughly enjoyed this cabin. There were neighbors but the scenery was amazing and the cabin was well stocked with linens, kitchen utensils, and the like. There is Wi-Fi but no streaming options so we’re glad we brought DVDs to watch after it was too dark to enjoy the backyard and lake dock. It was probably the most memorable cabin we’ve had and the most comfortable. The owners are definitely thorough with clear instructions both online and in paper at the cabin. Also just a short drive from the home of Superman which my boys loved. Definitely recommend renting this and will probably rent again!

It was amazing! The views of the lake while sitting in the hot tub on the back porch! Kayaking was fun.We sat around and relaxed a lot.Not a lot to do around the area but Paducah Kentucky had a cute riverwalk with shops and restaraunts.

Let me start with saying how amazing the host were, when we originally booked this cabin we booked for another day, that same week we learned our daughter's recital was the same weekend. I emailed the host and she was so accommodating and completely understood. Once we got there the cabin itself was beautiful, well maintained with everything and more you would need for your stay plus extras (beach towels, lawn chairs, and wood for the fire pit). We spent the weekend fishing and kayaking during the day and hot tub and fire at night. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway.
