“We stayed at the Kings Head last weekend and had a lovely time. The pub itself is gorgeous, decorated beautifully, it is cosy and inviting and located in a lovely spot by the stream.Although the actual car park itself was small this was no problem as we parked literally a couple of minutes away on the lane, perfect as it allowed the opportunity to see a tiny red squirrel busy in a nearby tree. “Staff lovely.
Bed comfy, sheets and towels clean.
The room was ok but the shower room was full of black mould. In the room damp by the window.
Really cold despite having a plug in heater.
Expedia sold this as a stay with breakfast included, which it was not
All in all disappointed. We have received a partial refund

“Very convenient for town and only a few steps away from the Royal Oak pub. Stayed here as my mother lives around the corner. Would recommend. Easy access to the A66 and the Lakes only 40 minutes away. Locals very friendly.”

“Clean and good facilities. We didn't see another person for the whole stay! It would have been helpful to have had instructions for the appliances and the heating! We could not find a way to turn it up beyond 17° so the lounge was quite cold!
It would also have been helpful if the car park was a bit closer ( on the days it poured with rain).
I would still recommend it as a good place to stay, as long as you don't mind washing up.”
