“A beautiful old home, efficiently run, with easy parking and access. Room was quiet, comfy bed and every convenience.”

“Dinner was good, breakfast was very good. Bathroom very spacious with excellent shower. Unfortunately there were no shelves for any toiletries. Staff were very attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that we paid for a superior room, but it didn’t feel or look superior. It was on the ground floor with two windows facing Main Street, so the blinds were closed to avoid people looking in. For a standard room that would have been ok, but not for a superior room. “The host and hostess were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was in the property forecourt. The breakfast was well prepared and plentiful. The only issue was finding somewhere to dine. The local hotel could not accommodate us on the two occasions that we tried. The nearest was either Northern Sands or Castletown hotel both of which were a number of miles away.”

“We loved this family run hotel! Leo and Mary Ellen were welcoming and helpful, including getting us a taxi to the ferry early in the morning. We ate dinner here one night and it was excellent- local lamb chops and steak pie and chips. I’d highly recommend Manor House if you want a smaller hotel with personal service. We stayed in the main building .”

“Andrea was an excellent host, the pod was clean and well stocked with everything you could need to make your own meals. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus to relax after a long drive. Highly recommended! ”

“The Pentland is a charming place but the cleaning staff was shorthanded. My bathroom needed a heavy clean. (they never did scrub the floor.) The breakfast is very nice and the restaurant is also very good. The location is great for to and from walking from the train.”
