The location is incredible: right on the water for gorgeous views, and within walking distance of downtown/historic Charleston. The breakfast buffet was the best we've had at a hotel! And the staff was very nice about letting us use the omelet fixings for our scrambled eggs. The coffee was good too, and we are picky! The whole hotel is clean, light, and visually appealing. The only minor comment I would make is to jazz up the rooftop bar (another GREAT selling point for the hotel!), but I understand that will be taken care of in the upcoming renovation. Can't wait to see it next time we come visit from Massachusetts!

We visited from out of state and since the name is ‘downtown’ we expected it to be closer to the main downtown tourist area but the view was incredible! The only negative I felt was the restaurant doesn’t serve lunch. There was severe weather one day and we were stuck in the room and not having lunch options other than overpriced snacks was frustrating. Other than that I highly recommend this hotel.

We had booked a room with water view and balcony. When we got there we were shown a room overlooking the AC units and told we rooms we booked with Expedia was not available but if it was it would be $900! Not so, I went to Hilton's website and found the view/balcony room available for $389. What's up??
