"If you do not speak Italian, it is useful to know how to speak some Italian. The people are very kind and lovely, but it’s helpful to know Italian language. The setting is beautiful and food is delicious at the restaurant. The accommodations are clean, nice. I would return to the place and stay again. It is peaceful and relaxing."

"This clean, mountain top property offered a cool respite from the Lerici crowd. The staff are so welcoming and friendly that you feel right at home. Excellent breakfasts get your day going. I’d recommend the hotel for travelers on a budget who get a very nice place to boot."

Staff were very nice and friendly. This has been a family business of theirs for a long time, and they know their job very well :)
Breakfast was really good.
I recommend try their dinner too. Good variety and so delicious.
The pool was so clean with an amazing view.
Room was clean and cozy.
The town was also cute with scenic view everywhere.
I wish we’d spent more nights there.

Wow. Amazing. Beautiful. I can't say enough great things about this hotel/ bed and breakfast and the wonderful people who run it. A converted mansion with just a few rooms, it was amazing. Beautiful garden with a fountain, roses, an aviary. House and garden is filled with artwork. It was more like staying at a mansion or a museum than a hotel. Our hostess there was gracious and helpful. She even drove us herself when we couldn't get a taxi. By far the best accommodations I have ever had in all...

I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting La Spezia, Portovenere or Cinque Terre. Short car drive to catch the ferry or train! House has a beautiful Mountain View, Italian breakfast was amazing, room was comfortable with a very nice bathroom but most importantly, staff was very welcoming and gave us amazing tips as to how to make the most of our short stay in La Spezia. We will be back!

Everything was very nice, including the dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. My only complaint is there were 2 hot tubs that were the same temp as the pool. We wanted to soak after a long day in the car but were unable to do so

Albergo Serena is located up in the mountains with ~10 minutes of curvy roads, but the views are spectacular! Their facilities are somewhat new, it's looks like it used to be a house and they added some rooms but well planned. Their staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast buffet was delicious with pastries, jams, cereals, salami, cheese, and even a make your own waffles machine!!! There's a local restaurant (Giova) located about 300 meters from them that it was awesome! Everything we had...

The best area to stay in Codiponte is within the village itself, particularly around the historic center.
This small, historic village is centered around the Church of Santi Cornelio e Cipriano and the Malaspina Castle ruins. Its narrow, winding streets are dotted with traditional stone houses, offering a quiet and authentic experience. The village is compact and easily explored on foot.
Couples seeking a peaceful and romantic getaway will find Codiponte ideal. The village provides a tranquil setting for relaxation, with opportunities for scenic walks through the surrounding Lunigiana countryside. The local trattorias offer authentic Tuscan cuisine, great for intimate dinners.
For travelers interested in a cultural retreat, staying in Codiponte allows for a deep appreciation of the region's history and traditions.
When is the best time to go to Codiponte?
The best time to visit Codiponte, Tuscany, is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to October. These periods offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed experience for travelers.
During these months, the weather is typically warm and sunny without the intense heat of mid-summer, making it ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside or enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find the vineyards and olive groves at their most picturesque, whether they're blooming in spring or laden with fruit in autumn.
For couples seeking a quiet and romantic getaway, these shoulder seasons are particularly appealing. The fewer tourists mean more intimate experiences at local trattorias and easier access to popular attractions without long waits. The gentle temperatures are great for leisurely strolls through Codiponte's historic streets or drives through the Lunigiana region.
Families will also appreciate the milder weather, which is more comfortable for children to enjoy outdoor adventures like hiking or exploring medieval castles.
