"Our hotel stay was fantastic. Everything was clean and well maintained. I like how everything in the room was designed, instead of a traditional chest of drawers and a closet, there was a small bench under the tv and a wall of 6 hooks to hang stuff. We were a 5 minute drive to Henderson Beach State Park - which was a decent beach. And Walmart is right across the road. The hotel is super close to lots of things. We also felt safe there. The *only* thing is that we needed an extra pillow. The hotel staff had texted me when we got there, asking if we needed anything. I didn’t know until we laid down for bed that we needed one - so I texted them back, but didn’t hear anything for a while, so I just fell asleep. I probably could have gone down to the front desk, but I was already in my pajamas and tired. I don’t know how often they check that or how that works, but I was hoping I could just text them and get a pillow. So I’m not taking off a star - because I probably could have tried harder. But if you need something quickly, don’t use the text service. We had a long drive, so we left earlier than they served breakfast, but that’s ok. Otherwise, loved our stay. Would definitely stay here again."
Inn on Destin Harbor, an Ascend Collection Hotel

"Pleasant experience! We had a room with a harbor view and it was very peaceful :) The pool is directly under the balconies though so there will be noise if people are out and about - not enough to be a nuisance though. We had a couple of requests that the front desk went above and beyond to help us with, so I have no clue what some of the negative reviews were talking about? The hallway carpets are kinda...stained lol but the rooms are totally clean and have cool retro fridges and a microwave! The beds were comfy, I would say medium firm, and housekeeping was superful helpful when I managed to lock myself more than once lol! Definitely would recommend as a great option that is affordable and on the water. They also have a small bar attached to the registration desk with beers and drinks if you like to partake. I wouls highly suggest bringing a Chromecast or roku if you want to watch TV - you can plug it right into the TV (although the internet wasn't powerful enough so I used my mobile Hotspot). Solid 8/10 :)"
