"Reasonable, close to train station, good breakfast"
Very basic. Quite okay as I spent all of my time exploring Copenhagen. Easy to find the hotel, centrally located, 1/2 a block from train station. Staff were terrific. Bathroom clean and very functional (I chose a private bathroom). The room is a bit depressing: tiny TV up high on the wall, stains on carpet, musty smell and curtain not opaque enough to keep out sunlight in the morning. Ask for an extra pillow. Street noise significantly loud! I went in July and it's necessary to keep the window open because there isn't any air conditioning. There's a Lidl (inexpensive supermarket) close by and fast food available at the station. Had the opportunity to see a room at one of the "Wakeup" hotels, the new one, and it was waaaaaay nicer for just a bit more. It's modern, cool inside, quiet, deluxe. The one I visited was close to Nyhavn (the canal with the colourful buildings and cafes) - definitely staying there next time.

"Space saving hotel good for a city break"
The hotel was clean and well-maintained. The rooms are small and use space sparingly, which is fine if you are spending most of the day out and about and just using the room to sleep in. It is convenient for the city centre and the main station - we walked to most places. The main problem with the room was the lack of ventilation which meant it got really stuffy. We had to therefore open the window at night to get air in but that means you here all the city noise.

"Nice hotel 15 minutes from Aarhus"
My room was on sale so I got a double room for just me. The size of the room was great, of course, and the bathroom was great for Denmark. I found it very comfortable. Breakfast was okay though the same thing everyday. There were rolls, jam, sandwich meat, spreads, and some vegetables. Then cereal and boiled eggs. There was a good variety of drinks.

"Gracious old world charm meets modern Denmark"
Loved it! The Hotel Royale is the Grand Dame of Aarhus hotels, and was perhaps the most memorable of a 3 week Scandanavian roadtrip for our family of 4. Staff were gracious and welcoming. The hotel is historic, but well preserved with extensive original art, the oldest elevator in Denmark and elegant 19th century decor. It has been updated to modern Danish design, with dramatic aquarium front reception desk, glass terrace dining room, casino, and decent gym. Tasteful and artistic breakfast buffet. Stayed in room 501, which was an 800+/- sq ft penthouse suite, resplendent with old world charm and detail, that I would highly recommend to couples and families visiting Aarhus. A treat among Scandanavian hotels in Denmark's charming 2nd city.

    "Clean but basic!"
The hotel room was small and basic, a twin, but it was clean and functional. The pool and sauna were really nice and the free wifi was a bonus. There was no noise at night and so I slept well. I liked the fact that the hotel was situated out of the town centre in a nice area. It only took just over 30 minutes to walk to the zoo and around 40 for the centre of Aalborg. I asked for gluten free breakfasts and the hotel kindly baked me a loaf of gluten free bread (but didn't provide a separate carving knife and expected me to use the knife used to cut the gluten containing bread). There was no gluten free cereal, but I was able to eat some of the hot food (bacon and eggs), yogurt and fruit which was very tasty. The staff spoke good English which was appreciated as I needed some help and advice regarding my stay in Aalborg. The hotel wasn't cheap so the room was a bit dissapointing, but I suspect that this was due more to the high cost of most things in Denmark.
