What an amazing find! Beautiful property, well maintained and wonderful breakfast. The history of Four Mounds is worth looking into if you are planning a stay there - although you will have plenty of opportunity to find out the history. What was originally built as a gentleman’s farm during the Industrial Revolution has become a well preserved ecosystem with well maintained buildings. Four Mounds was donated to Dubuque by one of the last surviving original owners and has become a foundation that is well known to Dubuque residents. Even if you don’t care about the history - it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to stay with an amazing breakfast. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was fine, shower curtain wouldn’t stop blowing in and sticking to me, but it was fine. The breakfast was fantastic and Dee was delightful.
