“Walls were thin, neighbors drunk and loud. Room was falling apart. Bed was old and terrible. Bathroom was gross, moldy and dirty. Will never stay there again”

“Well renovated boutique hotel. Very clean, friendly staff, great amenities. We've stayed twice now and will stay again next time we are in Durango.”

“Paid $250 for 1 night and $100 deposit!! If I could rate zero stars I would the room was disgusting the walls had black marks all over them, mind you the walls are white. There was dust everywhere, the ac smelt awful. The towels had dried up dead bugs in them when we unfolded them all the dead bugs fell out. The refrigerator and microwave had crumbs all over. There was dog food on the floor and dirt and leaves. We asked a staff member if he could at least sweep and mop and get us clean towels……

“office staff was very helpful getting me checked in when I was in horrific pain and did not want to walk a few steps and anxious to help me when I had a question. Love the cute coffee pot with wonderful coffee. Love the ease of parking and though it is near main street it was quiet.”

“The location was great, perfect for strolling downtown, and there was a comfortable bed, but the hotel could definitely use a refresh as carpets were dingy and a bit stinky. Loved the shampoo, conditioner and soap though as well as the coffee and grab and go breakfast”

“Check in staff asked if my dog was a registered/certified service dog. They seemed to think that service dogs have to come with some sort of official registration. Floor in room was sticky. TV did not work. Someone came into our room unannounced and unplugged the refrigerator so that the stuff in the freezer melted. nice area for walking a dog right along a creek. not far from the high school and the path along the Animas River.”

“They didnt have enough staff. The lady working the kitchen was tending to guests requests with towels etc. , she was also manning the front desk. There was a carafe of hot water for tea etc that was cold , microwave didnt work in eat in area. The bathroom in our executive suite was not real clean, there was nastiness around the toilet by the floor. If that had been our first LaQuinta visit, we would never go to another. However, not all are like that. It needs some help with management.”

“I would call the Hampton Durango a hidden gem. Top 5 likes were: comfortable bed and bedding, clean room, walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and covered, garage parking, a big plus in an area that gets summer hail.”
