Tropicana is a gorgeous hotel and the on site staff are wonderful. That being said we were in a suite for two nights. The first night we noticed the ac was not working correctly. We called or maintenance and they eventually came, said the problem was resolved, and we went out to enjoy the night. Upon our return the room was 4 degrees hotter than when we left. We called again and were told maintenance would be up. They never came and we called again. Not a huge deal but it was after 11:00 pm and each time we called it took a minimum of ten minutes to get someone on the phone. We waited again and no one ever showed up. We eventually went to sleep but the room was stuffy and damp from the lack of working ac. The next day we tried calling several times and eventually had to go to the front desk and wait to speak with someone there. It was at this time we found out that calls are outsourced and do not go directly to on site hotel staff. The front desk gentlemen was quite helpful and moved us to a different room for our second night. The ac was better but still did not function as well as it should. In addition, we were in the Solana tower. Only 2 of the 4 elevators for this tower were working and each time we needed to go up to our room we waited in line for at least 10 minutes and then had to shove into the elevator like sardines. Not only was it inconvenient, but I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe overloading the elevator each time we rode it.
