Welcome to the quaint village of Fortescue, a Bayshore community in Cumberland County. The beaches along the Delaware Bay are relaxing and peaceful. Fish, swim, kayak or crab at your leisure. Enjoy acres of protected wildlife refuge along the shore and inland. Close to Turkey Point, Bivalve and historic Millville. Our adorable cottage sleeps up to six people and is walking distance to the State and Higbee's Marinas. Charter a boat or launch your own. Have dinner at the Charlesworth Inn or breakfast at Higbee's Luncheonette. Walk to the beach and enjoy our famous sunsets.

The Sand Castle
This property was amazing in every way! It was my husband and myself for half of the time, and our daughter and her fiancé for a couple of nights. It was cozy, comfortable and clean. The sunsets on the Delaware Bay were the most beautiful I have ever seen! In the past, we have always gone to Wildwood Crest, but I wanted to try something new. It was great! We did drive to Wildwood to go to the beach because we really like the beach there. If you’re looking fir the Wildwood atmosphere, this is not the place for you. If you want to be in a calm and peaceful environment this IS the place for you! We encountered many friendly people and always felt safe. Ken and Suzanne left water, beer and coffee for us to enjoy. If we had any questions they were easily reached and helped with whatever we needed. If you do rent this adorable little place, you will not be disappointed!

Best Kept Secret Down The Shore Beach!
We had a lovely stay at the Sandcastle for a little birthday weekend retreat. The house was so nicely made up for our stay with everything we - and our dog - needed. The pull out couch and crisp AC kept us cozy during the rain while the beach and marina gave us lots to explore in the sun. Feels like we discovered a special secret town with this sweet house and can’t wait to go back for a longer stay next time!

The Sand Castle
House was perfect and exactly what we love when staying in tiny homes. Loved the peace and quiet and enjoyed bird watching. So many osprey and several bald eagles. Not a great beach stay but if you love fishing then this would be an awesome place. Thank you for the hospitality.

Beautiful little cottage right by the bay. Owners exceptional nice..beautiful place All the little things like drinks in frig, coffee, ect made it so welcoming. The people that live or have vacation property there were all so nice and friendly Loved the holiday parade..felt like kids again..throwing candy Fishing paradise Only thing that we didn’t care for was the green hornets..but to be expected in that type of environment Glad we came

Nice, Quiet, relaxing place to stay
My family and I had a really great time staying at this beach house. Fortescue has a lot to offer with its beaches and marina within walking distance. The home was just as described, comfortable to sleep in and to have get togethers. We had 3 teenager boys, 2 adults and a dog and we had enough room for everyone. They provided a dog bed and bowls. The host was quick to respond to any questions we had. This place has everything you will need. We have already scheduled it for another week long stay.

Adorable cottage and wonderful hosts!
Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short due to unusually heavy rain (several inches overnight) that backed up the drains in the cottage. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Despite the logistical challenges my kids did NOT want to leave and loved the bunk bed room. The place is very nicely designed and decorated and I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to someone looking for a place to stay in Fortescue. We had never been to this area before and love exploring new places off the beaten path. Before we left we were able to stroll on the beach and see several horseshoe crabs. On the way out of town we saw so many osprey I lost count! Thank you again to the hosts for helping us make the best of our unlucky weather during a very brief stay!

Lovely quaint property
This property was very recently updated & very well done & designed very carefully to make the most use of space. The sq ft of the property is small to us but actually due to the design felt perfectly adequate for us 3 and our dog. They have lovely touches in the property to make you feel at home and the drinks in the fridge where a nice welcome. The location is all about fishing but we did find some small beaches for the dog and my son to play on. Great relaxing weekend break. The owners where quick to respond and friendly. They even had a dog bed, bowls, leash and bags for dogs if required. The only item in the kitchen they didn’t have was a tin opener for the dog food so we’ll done. Overall great homely vacation 👏🏼
