“The overall stay would rate a D- The beginning was the worst part. They seemed to not have us registered?? Not sure but they had us take a seat and then took over 20 minutes to check in and we got there at 5:30pm. Check in is at 4pm. Once we got our keys and went up and tv was blasting a kids show and doors were open. Brought up the concerns to the folks at the front and didn’t seem to care nor offered anything besides we “checked it out and everything is fine”. We asked for a different room……

“The ocean view was the best part about this hotel suite room. You can watch the sunset from your porch. We were a little surprised how dated the room was, especially the bathroom. The shower curtain rings were rusty and the tub/bath was not very "romantic". There is no microwave allowed in this style unit, so this made for no cooking at all. “Host was very responsive, making the check in and out process really easy. Room looked exactly like in the photos. But I wish the sofa bed was thick and that the attachments were not rusted. So whoever stays on the sofa bed may be a little uncomfortable, but everything else was clean and lovely. Also appreciated that the unit we were staying in has a washer and dryer for my clothes! You get a great view of the ocean and a visit from the local chickens which makes for a lively time.”

“We enjoyed our stay. We started out with 8 bath towels and only 4 beach towels. We left behind 4 beach towels we purchased. The washer needs repair. In the spin cycle it sounds like a jet engine and is very loud. The toaster does not work. The electrical system is somewhat sketchy, the lights flickering at times. A vacuum cleaner would have been helpful.We enjoyed using the boogey boards and chairs, thank you. We like the host, we have rented for three weeks over the past three months……

"Great value stay in Kauai, especially for families. This is probably the best value hotel we’ve stayed at in Hawaii. It’s not a luxury resort, but it offers everything you need. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained without feeling outdated. The location is a huge plus. It’s close to the airport and within easy walking distance to Coconut Marketplace, where you can find restaurants and a grocery store. Not needing to drive for meals or snacks was extremely convenient. The hotel’s restaurant, Lava Lava Beach Club, is also delicious and worth trying. One of the most memorable moments of our stay was spotting a monk seal resting right on the beach in front of the hotel—such a special and unexpected experience. A couple of small things could be improved: the shower pressure in our room was a bit weak, and the public microwave in the lobby wasn’t very easy to find. Overall, this hotel is a great option for families. Our 2-year-old had a wonderful time here, and we would happily stay again on our next trip to Kauai."
