“Sign by dining room listed its hours of operation for all 3 daily meals, but when we came by for dinner well within the listed time frame, there was literally nobody around anywhere. There was no indication that it might only be certain days or by reservation only, in fact it's listed as a full public restaurant on their website, with public menu visible, we'd even planned what we wanted to order. And it was a Friday night, so even if they were only open some days, surely they'd be open for……

I was given was floor level room in the back and there were chunks of hair in a pile in the corner of the room plus hair all over the floor in the bathroom and living area. The room did not appear to have been cleaned. I was shown another room with same hair issue on the bathroom floor. The third room upstairs seemed better . The beds ”

“This place is full of history and charm! The host was super nice and the breakfast was excellent, especially the fresh eggs from their own home-grown chickens. We arrived a bit too early in the season to see the roses in bloom, but the grounds are lovely. The only minor downsides are that the furniture and towels felt a bit dated, and there is no air conditioning in the room. However, they do provide fans and a cozy fireplace, making it a great stay overall.”
