When I arrived, I witnessed a conversation between another guest who was given keys to a room someone else already had. They walked in on them sleeping. They were upset. Rightfully so. When I went to my room, the hallway carpet was soiled, torn, and taped together. My room smelled moldy. I noticed the ceiling near the bathroom were bubbled and stained with what looked like a water leak. The shower ceiling sheetrock repair was falling apart right above the shower head. The beds were comfortable and clean, but I didn't dare take the fitted sheet off to see if that was still the case. The pillows were lumpy. The smell of marijuana filled the hallways. A strip bar was across the street. There stood a woman wearing less that what would be considered underwear. The parking lots were dirty and falling apart. The building itself is outdated and falling apart. I also heard the pool was filled with algae. Disgusting. I can't believe Hotel.com would even have an option like this. Disappointing. I couldn't go anywhere else without losing money. I also didn't want to waste time dealing with all this because I was there visiting my daughter. I hope people would read my review and NOT even entertain the idea of staying at The Red Lion Hotel in Downtown Boise.

Nice, comfortable bedding.

Love to support a nice local business on our trip. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Walkable location and also enjoyed borrowing a bike.

Would never recommend this place to anyone . Horrible customer service. Poor amenities. Spa and pool were CLOSED and they refused to approve a refund which I requested at check in because the amenities listed in the site weren't available.. go somewhere else even if it costs a few bucks more.....

Stayed twice and both were outstanding experiences.
